The back cover of today's TBT might say it best: "WHERE YOU BEEN?" You is Armwood product Matt Joyce.
I promise we won't be blogging about Joyce every day on here, but have you seen what he has done since getting called up from Triple-A Durham last weekend by the Rays?
After homering and going 2-for-3 Sunday against the Twins, Joyce followed it up last night with a homer, a double and four RBI, helping lead the Rays to a 6-2 win against the Royals at Tropicana Field.
Joyce, 24, got a standing ovation from fans in right field as he made his way back to the outfield in the ninth inning following his two-run homer. He now has three homers in just 17 at bats this season, and he is well on his way to making a case that he belongs in the Big Leagues.
Joyce is back in the starting lineup tonight against Kansas City. First pitch is just after 7 p.m.

When I first came to Brandon in 1988, I thought, "There's a McDonald's here, so it can't be all bad." After a year, I moved to St. Petersburg and then Lakeland. When it became time to return to Hillsborough County in 1993, I could have picked Carrollwood, South Tampa or Temple Terrace, but the "60 " South" area just seemed like home.
