SPOOKY HALLOWEEN MUSIC - VOTE NOW!

Sure, Halloween is a fun time for everyone, but I think New Wave and goth kids of the 1980's adored it more because we had all that great spooky music to blast through the night. Gems like Bauhaus's Bela Lugosi's Dead and Everyday Is Halloween by Ministry. Lest we forget Halloween by Siouxsie and The Banshees with its chorus:

Trick or treat
Trick or treat
the bitter and the sweet

Don't forget Oingo Boingo's Dead Man's Party and the creepy Dead Joe
by Nick Cave's old band the Birthday Party.

Even the mainstream crowd got in on the spooky tunes with Michael Jackson's megahit Thriller and the bouncy Ghostbusters theme song by Ray Parker Jr.

What was your favorite creepy, crawly tune from the 1980s?

It's a dead man's partyWho could ask for moreEverybody's comingLeave your body at the door

The opening scream in "This is Radio Clash" is on my Halloween soundtrack. The rest of the song - not so scary...

tonight i am spinning the absolute very best in 80's dance music at the BANK at 1919 central ave. in st. petersburg, don't try to navigate the howard frankenstien on this nite stay in st.pete and dance all nite w/ an extra hour because of daylight savings time!!!! [if you live in tampa forget guavaween it is for kids nowadays come to st. pete and party all night!!!!]3$ bass ale and 2$ tuaca shots!!!thank you see you there!!!missmary

I dig Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me." Very 1984, indeed.

It's very 2005 too.

I vote for Thriller.

Goblin Girl by Frank Zappa

C'mon guys.. Who could forget Dokken's Dream Warriors? It was Freddy Krueger's theme song! To this day I still think of him when I hear that song...

Pet Cemetary by The Ramones

Aaaa-whooooo! Werewolves of London!

don't forget Shreikback's Nemesis

Burn the Flames by Rocky Erikson. This is a classic from the "Return of the Living Dead" soundtrack.

Meat is Murder by the Smiths. Love the samples of cows moo'ing!

Come on! I can't believe nobody has mentioned that legendary Charlie Daniels Band smash "The Legend of Wooly Swamp" from 1980!

I changed my mind. "Dead Souls" by Joy Division.

What about the DJ Jazzy Jeff and the fresh prince Nightmare on my street!

Thriller - Michael JacksonSomebody's Watching Me - RockwellStrangelove - Depeche ModeWhite Wedding - Billy Idol

Roky Erikson is not an '80s artist!! He's a crazy ass hillbilly - by way of hallucinogens and Austin, Texas - from the 1960s and 1970s.

Ministry's "Everyday is Halloween" would have to be the winner in my book, because in true 80's "new wave" fashion that was our theme song!!!!

"everyday is halloween" is definetly our theme song and it was the very last song played at the london victory club on its last night....anyone else there that night???
