Yes, he really wants to hurt you
This is the news we were afraid was right around the corner: Boy George has been arrested in London after allegedly kidnapping a male escort and chaining him to the wall.
The escort told the British tab The Sun that, "It’s ironic that his biggest hit was 'Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?' -- because I’m sure he did want to hurt me. I was convinced I was going to die."
The escort was able to wrench a hook from the wall and fled George's East London apartment wearing only his pants.
George was arrested by police for false imprisonment and assault, but has since been bailed out.
Boy George has a long, distinguished history with the police (not the ones with Sting either). Especially notable was his arrest for falsely reporting a burglary, after which he was sentenced to sweep the streets in Manhattan last year.

How sad. I loved Boy George in the 80's, and even still liked him through all of his problems recently ... but this is sad. Hope he gets help.

It's been way too long since I've been chained to a wall.

not sure why, but the only version of this song I can think of now is the Violent Femmes cover from their 1993 CD Why Do Birds Sing? Gordon Gano's vocal approach adds a certain emotion to it that Boy George could never acheive. When BG sang it my answer was always, "Yes, yes I do want to hurt you."
Maybe he and Adam Ant can regale each other with stories from the asylum?
