Van Halen fans dancing in the streets
Where have we heard this before ... Van Halen is announcing a 50-date reunion tour next week that will reunite former lead singer David Lee Roth with the band, Reuters news service reports today.
The band had planned an amphitheater tour for the summer of 2007, but Eddie Van Halen decided to check himself into a rehab center first. In the meantime, the band was inducted into the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame (with only Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony there to accept).
The reunion tour -- to begin in October -- would include Roth, Eddie Van Halen, his brother Alex Van Halen on drums, and Eddie's son Wolfgang on bass (replacing Antony, who remains loyal to his pal Sammy.)

Hi all 80's fanatics,
We should take bets on what's going to cancel the new VH tour (remember 1996?)
I got dibs on Eddie having Ebola! Any other ideas or takers?

Hopefully on this tour, Dave won't be as hammered as he was at the US Festival...
"Don't be throwing stuff at me, pal! I'm gonna f--- your girlfriend!"
Simply classic. God bless DLR.

I'll believe this when I see it. Even then, I'll still be suspicious.

To add to Cox's comment, DLR would just either do one of three things:
a) He "Air Roths" over them into the crowd, by kicking off the drum riser.
b) Brings out the baton that he whips around during "Jump" for the past few years during his solo tours.
c) Uses some kung-fu. Read the guy's biography, DLR is a dangerous dude!

When the tour fails, here's a good headline for the newspaper:
"PANA-WHA?"
You're welcome!

I was never a huge VH fan, but after Sammy left, this band has been nothing but a train wreck. Sometimes our childhood memories should stay there. Just a thought.
If this gets off the ground I am sure that they won't make it all the way through to the end of the tour before Eddie gets sick of Dave again. His ego just won't allow it.

I love the Diamond One over the Ronald McDonald look-a-like, but that being said, Dave's best singing days are clearly behind him.
They should have Mike Anthony back on bass. Come on Van Halens, bring back the original 4, instead of a VH 3-some with Roth. Otherwise, why buy?

You know, it would be fun to follow along on their tour, have backstage access and really chronicle what I'm sure will be a huge disaster...

It would be worth it going just to see if that night would be the ones where all the Van Halens try to dogpile Roth.

Here's the big question: Will anybody buy tickets, consider the on-again, off-again nature of the tour?
And even if it's a sure thing: Would you want to see them? Or are they past their prime? Or are they even the same band with a teenager playing bass? I mean, hey, it's not the Patridge Family.

This just in, the reunion tour is cancelled again. Oh, wait, never mind, it's back on. Wait, no, that's wrong, it's off again.....
