« Most quotable movie lines: Nos. 41-60 | Main | Quiet Riot singer found dead »

And now, your photos ...

Spikysandy Remember a couple weeks ago when I said I wasn't posting any more embarrassing photos of myself from the 80s until I received a few from you -- the 80s nation?

Some of you actually had the courage to send in your photos! Today's fashion victim: long-time fan "Spiky Sandy."

Sandy writes: "This is a picture of me on the left and my friend, Mich, at Eckerd College circa 1986.  We were going to a party.  Honestly, we really didn't dress this way all of the time!  I'm Spiky Sandy because now my hair is very, very short!  I had huge hair back then."

I'm at a loss for words, Sandy. I'm not sure it's the big hair that stands out the most. I'm thinking the "Choose Life" shirt is the ultimate 80s accessory. But the blue eyeshadow and ripped jeans ... wow! It's a good thing we didn't know each other back then. I'd be your stalker. I'm totally in love. Will you go to prom with me?

God, I miss the 80s. Keep your 80s photos coming. Send them to stuckinthe80s@tampabay.com. I'll buy a custom "Stuck in the 80s" t-shirt for the person who has the photo that the "most 80s-ish."

That photo just put the boom boom into my heart. Jitterbug!

Oh, Walter. You should be ashamed for quoting Wham lyrics. Even on this blog!

(Easily one of my least favorite songs of the last 100 years.)

Wow! I'm at a loss, Steve. I think my husband would object to the date to the prom.

I love this picture and there's only 19 days, 17 hours & 21 minutes until I turn 40. I was a true child of the 80's, I attended both high school and college during this time. Thanks for posting this!

Who is the hot redhead?

Your husband will let you go with me. He's a GUY -- anything to get out of having to dance.

The "hot redhead" is my friend Mich, another Eckerd College grad, who lives right here in Tampa Bay with her husband. She sang 2 songs at my wedding. What an awesome friend!

Kudos go her her former roommate, Christine, who found this photo and shared it with us.

That hot redhead is me... MAN I wish I still looked like that (well maybe not the getup so much...) LOL!
Long Live the '80's!!

Steve's envious because I really can make the sun shine brighter than Doris Day.

I guess it looks ridiculous now and offically brands me as a creepy old guy but man, a girl with big hair, studded jewelry, maybe some fingerless gloves and a pair of Ray Bans is STILL my feminine ideal.

Dis Mich party like I did in college? I hope she voted for me because she seems like a cool person
