Most quotable movie lines: Nos. 41-60
The list of the 80 most quotable movie lines of the 80s marches on today. (Click here to view Nos. 61-80.)
Remember, the list was built based on reader recommendation and other important criteria, including how easy it is to use the line in everyday banter and how often the movie shows up on TV.
Today's big winners: "The Breakfast Club" gets two entries today. But Rodney Dangerfield also has two quotes, albeit from different movies. One, of course, is his infamous improvised ending to "Caddyshack." (Kenny Loggins, who handled the music duties for the movie, told us during his podcast interview that the script for Caddyshack wasn't near complete when filming started. So many of the lines we've come to cherish are in fact improvised at the last minute.)
As always, drop us a comment and tell us what you think of the list so far.

THIS WEEK'S SHOW: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers rock Tampa Bay. To hear the latest "Stuck in the 80s" episode now,

"Socrates" and "Inigo Montoya" only in the 50's!! These two deserve to be much higher in the list.

Well, the Montoya line is definitely a classic 80s movie line. But just how often can you quote it in everyday life?
(Sean is getting really tired of me calling myself Inigo Montoya during my daily death threats.)

I know I'm not objective on this point, but I was really expecting to see "Mother Pussbucket!" on tomorrow's list.
It's been my "go-to" exclamation for over 20 years and it pains me to see it in the bottom half.

Daily death threats eh? Sounds like the healthy relationship I have with my close friends.....

Lovin the list! My 9 year old loves to quote Bill and Ted so yes it has passed the test of time! Of course my kiddos have an unfair advantage because their mom is hopelessly Stuck in the 80s!
Glad to see the sci-fi quotes are making it on this list too, a day doesn't go by that we're not quoting someone in Star Wars or pretending to be Spock... "Live long and prosper" we can blame Grandma for that one!
I can't wait for tomorrow's edition... Highlander AND Long Duc Dong, can't get much better than that!

More I think about it, more torqued I am that "if you build it, he will come" is ranked so low ... hell, that's like every newspaper headline written in the past 20 years that *doesn't* mention "they're baaaack" .... Like, if the Devil Rays, err, "Rays," built a new stadium and the 4,500 fans who came to the first season actually attended a game, the Times headline would read, "If you build it, they will come: They're baaaaack."

I have to say, being born in 87 I haven't seen to many of the movies these quotes have come from. However, I have seen Sixteen Candles and I am extremely looking forward to Long Duc Dong. I qoute him at least once a day. You all know the qoute I am talking about! But I guess we must wait for tomorrow!
