Rebecca De Mornay: Time of your life, huh kid?
She's what every boy off the lakes wants: Rebecca De Mornay -- better known as "Lana" in 1983's "Risky Business" to us -- better really enjoy taking the train. That might be the only way she gets around after a recent arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol.
De Mornay was stopped in Beverly Hills the night before Halloween for a traffic violation when cops detected booze on her breath, according to reports by People magazine. Her blood alcohol level was 0.09, just slightly about the legal limit in California.
Unlike some of her acting peers, De Mornay was "very cooperative" while being arrested, reports say.
I don't think I'm going out on a limb by saying just about every teenage male in the 80s had a "Rebecca De Mornay in handcuffs" fantasy going on at one point or another. She's easily one of the most fantasized girlfriends of the decade. Right up there with Kelly LeBrock from "Weird Science" and Phoebe Cates in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" (without all the bathroom weirdness).
But did you know De Mornay actually played a jailbird in one of her 80s flicks? Put the kids to bed early tonight and check out "And God Created Woman" from 1988. If you thought "Risky Business" was risque, you don't know De Mornay.
TOP FIVE REBECCA DE MORNAY FLICKS FROM THE 80s:
5. Runaway Train (1985): "Hold me. I don't want to die alone."
4. The Slugger's Wife (1985): Look for the cameo by Steven Gustafson, Dennis Drew, and Jerome Augustyniak of 10,000 Maniacs. And try not to wince at the bad acting.
3. Feds (1988): "He's been trained for this since he was a sperm."
2. And God Created Woman (1988): I know that Vince Spano and Frank Langella really enjoyed this movie!
1. Risky Business (1983): "Are you ready for me ... Ralph?"

Well, it's nice to know that a cougar like Rebecca can teach the nouveau skanks a lesson in drunken diplomacy.

I've often dreamt of Rebecca being "Very cooperative"

There must not have been any nudity, Sean.
::rimshot:: I seriously need sound effects for my comments.

And God Created Woman is one of those movies where you can forget that all the acting is second rate, thanks to Rebecca DeMornay. And who knew that pool tables could be used for things other than pool. I think this should tie with Risky Business as the number one, only because Spano was more believable as a tradesman than Cruise was as a student. Mental note, find old vhs player to check this movie out again.

See! Ian knows good soft-core porn when he sees it! If that movie is on DVD, I will own it before the week is out.

Not that I'm a huge Vincent Spano aficionado, but I think his 80s masterpiece was "Creator" in 1985. Dare I say underrated?

I also know bad soft core porn. My range is limitless.

"Bad" soft-core porn? I'm not familiar with that phrase. Is that an Aussie thing? Is it like "chunder"?
Posted by: Spears | November 08, 2007 at 09:43 PM
Chunder is a good thing. It usually means that you have had a skin full. A bit like filling your pockets with rum and drinking it all. Bad soft core is usually accompanied by some lame male with a rediculous mushtaka who thinks he is God's gift to women. Ooops that reminds me of a story I once heard. Who could that have been???

Runaway Train is one of my husband's and my favorite movies. DeMornay was wonderful! If you've never seen it, people, rent it and see a brilliant flick!

I remember watching this movie when I was about 13. Rebecca still looks good to this day. And Cruise was a fool for leaving her...but not quite so foolish for hooking up with her during the filming of Risky Business and a few years after. My foreign wife looks quite a bit like De Mornay come to think of it. And on that note, as to why I went overseas and marry a girl 10 years younger then myself? Its all you, marissa! If having nostalgia for childhood fantasies makes us "perverts" what does the 90% divorce rate in California (with 75% of those initiated by the female) make you? Fear not, marissa, my wife loves you and your ilk, as without your utter repugnance, I would never have gone to Eastern Europe to find a mate!
