Live chat: Feeling sorta lizardy today
Another Sunday of boring NFL games and hangover nursing (I feel like the gung-ho iguana from The Last Starfighter), so you know what that means: Live chat with the Stuck in the 80s gang.
We got started at 3pm eastern time on Saturday, and it looks like the die-hards finally called it quits about 11 a.m. after writing more than 600 comments. Wow.
Next time, I promise more advance notice on our chats. But keep your eyes open, because we'll do them often -- especially when it's time to debut a new podcast episode!

Sooo lonely... so lonely...
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:03 PM
oh!!!
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:05 PM
Hey... don't be lonely! Marissa and I are here!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:06 PM
You missed my brilliant rendition of Sister Christmas over on the Night Ranger post.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:06 PM
Carla, we're either very devoted or significantly lacking in social lives: It's social...demented and sad!,but social"
That quote works for so many aspects of my life
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:07 PM
Although I'm a NFL fan... I agree, the games are kind of boring. My poor team, I think they are already thinking about the off season! Less than a half to go guys!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:07 PM
Ahhh, Marissa.. I say it's quite a bit of both! Quote works for me too!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:08 PM
YA know what I know about football?
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:08 PM
The rest of the 80's nation must have something called 'a life'!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:09 PM
Well, considering the number of married with children men who participate, I'd say they are making runs to Home Depot or painting their mini-vans with chalk paint.
Me? My son has taken over the TV and couch with his video extravaganza. Getting a wireless controller was such a mistake.
So, I sit here amusing myself with you guys.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:11 PM
I'm here. I have the Bucs game on TV, but it's awful. Like watching a preseason game.
What to drink? Any suggestions?
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:11 PM
I'm also rearranging my iTunes playlists. Hey, that could work instead of "I'm rearranging my sock drawer" or "I'm washing my hair" as an excuse for whatever.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:12 PM
Is the bar open? I'll take something with Gin in it.... surprise me!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:13 PM
I've got the Niner / Browns game on. My poor team is so sad!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:14 PM
Unhuh...I see how you are, steve. Liquor up the women
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:14 PM
Ahh, Itunes, I need to do that so badly. I recently lost all of my playlists. I need to go in and rebuild them.
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:15 PM
Gin is for sin, my sweet ladies!
I can either finish off last night's Turkey or crack into my mini Heneiken keg.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:15 PM
I think the last time I had something with Gin in it, it was 1984. My friends, who were over 21, snuck me into a bar and they had me sampling crap. This drink was called a Salty Dog, I believe.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:16 PM
Why do you think I like Gin so much?
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:17 PM
Ah, the Salty Dog. I believe that drink is the favorite of Rip Torn's in the old Larry Sanders show on HBO. Great show. I have the first season on DVD.
He kept trying to get Larry to drink them at some party.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:17 PM
No Gin for me. Tequila, on the other hand... We go way back. Tequila makes me forget I have decency and for whatever reason, clothing seems to evaporate when I drink it.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:18 PM
For the record, I chose the beer. I actually have the mini-keg sitting on the computer desk next to me.
No gin in the house today, I've discovered. That will be remedied soon.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:18 PM
For the record, on beer #2 now. Queuing up iTunes.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:20 PM
Yes Marissa! Me and Jose have been good friends in the past! Love some Tequila shots!
I'll settle for beer today, though! Save the Gin for a night when sin is possible!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:21 PM
I'm really not much of a drinker since I moved back to Illinois. Considering how lifeless it can be here, you'd think I'd be drinking myself into a stupor quite regularly. However, the man-cub frets due to the DARE program teaching him alcohol is bad, bad, bad.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:22 PM
I have the next episode of Stuck in the 80s with me, if anyone wants a sneak preview.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:24 PM
When I opt to write a tell all book, I will have an entire chapter dedicated to the forces of evil at work regarding tequila, parties, a swimming pool and younger men.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:24 PM
and how might we get a sneaky peeky?
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:25 PM
I can upload it just to the blog. And we can all listen and enjoy and make running snarky commentary.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:26 PM
grrrr I hate when I have to type in the captcha code first. Dagnabit!
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:27 PM
count me in Steve! I'm game! I'm feeling adventurous.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:28 PM
Sorry... computer slowed down a bit. Love to hear it!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:29 PM
My computer pukes from time to time when I'm a comment-maniac. Obviously, it chokes and gags quite often.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:31 PM
Yeah, my computer needs a serious cleaning out. I tried to have the blog, yahoo IM and Itunes open at the same time. It was seriously slowing down my posts.
Guess my Itunes clean up will have to wait for a later time.
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:32 PM
I'm uploading it now. It will be linked from the main blog post when it's there.
I haven't done a final listen to it yet, so you'll be hearing the final edit the same time as me.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:33 PM
Carla, have you seen the picture that accompanies the "click here" pop up window for the podcast?
I think I found my wallpaper theme lol
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:34 PM
And here it is:
http://blogs.tampabay.com/80s/files/stuckinthe80s111.mp3
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:34 PM
Marissa, I guess not having a life has it's rewards!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:34 PM
Now just because I gave the podcast is no reason to stop talking.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:38 PM
what a song to open with!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:38 PM
I really hate "Hot Hot Hot" but it's the only song for this week's show that's recognizable right from the start.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:39 PM
I had to open another window!
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:39 PM
Sorry, having a hard time typing while picturing Sean's hover move!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:40 PM
The 'hover'? hahaha
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:41 PM
By the way, Sean references the cruise line "Costa Romanica." I don't think there's such a cruise line. He MAY be referencing Costa Cruise Line (which is supposed to be a great cruise line), which has a very old ship (I think) called "The Romantica."
Go figure.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:41 PM
Hover? ha
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:41 PM
I'm here, but this ridiculous thing won't let me comment without having to type in a captcha code, then tells me i'm spam
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:43 PM
Sean's "hover" comments had me laughing so hard that I went into a coughing fit that lasted 5 minutes. I had to edit all that out obviously, but you can still hear a little of it in the background.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:43 PM
Marissa, I can fix that. Hang on.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:44 PM
"root for me mom! i'm your son!"
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:44 PM
That was hilarious! I agree with you though, I don't know if Sean would know how to leave the "comedy" out of the bedroom!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:45 PM
Thank you Steve!
And I love T'Pau's Heart and Soul! I sing that biotch like you wouldn't believe!
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:45 PM
You know, Sean's mom was in town last week here. I really would have loved to have her on the show.
So many questions for her.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:46 PM
Thank you Steve!
And I love T'Pau's Heart and Soul! I sing that song like you wouldn't believe!
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:46 PM
And I mean "have her" as in ... "have her as a guest." Just to be clear.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:47 PM
I prefer comedy in the bedroom. Then, there's less for me to worry about in trying to perform like a porn star
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:47 PM
I hope so Steve!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:47 PM
T'Pau truly sings the crap out of that song. I'm surprised they didn't go on to more fame and fortune.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:48 PM
I'm here! My team doesn't play until tonight so I've got too much time on my hands right now.
Posted by: 80sfan | December 30, 2007 at 03:48 PM
Ya know what's really frightening? You know how Sean sings all crazy in falsetto? I do that at work. Needless to say, my co-workers stay away from me. I like it that way.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:48 PM
UGH... The remake of Funkytown!
Comdey has it's place there, to a small degree!
What questions would you ask Seans mom??
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:49 PM
80sfan -- Download the show and join us in the critique of our latest effort.
If people like this, we'll do this live chat critique for each new show.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:50 PM
Hey there, 80sfan!
oh god! I just choked on a Wheat Thin when I snorted while laughing on the Australian Kiss A&&
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:50 PM
Hey 80's fan... Who's your team??
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:50 PM
What questions would I ask Sean's mom? I'd start with all the claims he's made about his shattered childhood.
The 'fro he claims to have had....
The childhood baths with lobster shells...
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:51 PM
I have "Living in a Box" ON a Living in Oblivion CD
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:52 PM
I tried staying up late last night to watch the Pats game, but alas, the Turkey did me in. I made it til halftime.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:52 PM
Childhood baths with lobster shells? Are you sure he didn't just get overly excited about the lobster dinner, and just jump right in?
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:52 PM
I'm not sure what I think of "Living in a box." I'm glad I just remembered the song. But beyond that, no feelings whatsoever.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:53 PM
I just started the show.
Carla, I am a Titans fan. Tonight's game will be a make or break.
Hmmm questions for Sean's mom?
Posted by: 80sfan | December 30, 2007 at 03:53 PM
OVER RATED!!! Leave "Lean On Me" in it's proper ORIGINAL place, thank you very much.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:54 PM
Sean once said that he would have twin lobster tails for dinner as a child, then his parents would have the restaurant staff wash out the shells so they could take them home, where Sean would take a bath with them.
I am NOT making this up.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:54 PM
Now, I loved Club Noveau's (never can spell that right)version of Lean on Me! Great song!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:54 PM
I've always thought Living in a Box was a very odd song.
Posted by: 80sfan | December 30, 2007 at 03:55 PM
I really don't like "Lean On Me" -- I think I went brain-dead in the show there (you can tell I'm a little spaced out there) and said I liked it.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:55 PM
No Steve.. you couldn't make something like that up!
80's fan.. I'm in Nashville, you live in Tennessee?
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:55 PM
hahahahaha! I so love that freakin' quote!
Jamie Yogurt/Yoplait
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:56 PM
Yes I am in Nashville too
Posted by: 80sfan | December 30, 2007 at 03:57 PM
Dance of the Seven Buttons??
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:57 PM
I should have kept going with the fake names for Jamie.
Jamie Yeager
Jamie Jagermeister
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:58 PM
So many reasons that this show shouldn't be a video podcast... but I'd love to see the Dance of the Seven Buttons!!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:58 PM
Oh God, help me! I'm getting scary visuals of Sean's patented 7button move followed by the hover move..(none of which I've seen)
And I LOVED GO WEST! I had the cassette. I had a thing for the singer.
I love Sean's raging fits.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 03:58 PM
Sean swears he's mentioned the Dance of the Seven Buttons before. But I'm drawing a blank.
I'd surely remember that.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 03:59 PM
Hey, gang.
I'm still downloading the podcast (a solid 20 minute endeavor via satellite), so I'm going to be behind everyone.
Posted by: Jeff in Cuba | December 30, 2007 at 03:59 PM
Alas 80's fan.. I'm here in Nashville, and I don't mind the Titans, but they're not my team! What part of Nashville are you in. I'm in Southeast Nashville, near Brentwood.
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 03:59 PM
That song "break out" disturbed me because she's seemingly out of tune.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:00 PM
He has mentioned it a couple times on his blog, I know for certain.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:00 PM
The Hover Move? I feel sorry for the FF.
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:01 PM
Oh Jeff -- I want to go on record and say I apologize for what you'll hear said about you about 2/3 of the way through the show.
It's all for the sake of entertainment.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:01 PM
I am actually in Franklin but I work in town.
Steve, how many of these songs did you say you had never heard of before? Are they considered one hit wonders if you've never heard them.
Posted by: 80sfan | December 30, 2007 at 04:01 PM
Jeff, you just came in time. Sean is reading your letter!
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:01 PM
Bassnote is here. It's officially a party. And I officially stopped counting the beers a long time ago.
The mini-keg is sweating now on my desk worse than me on stage introducing John Waite.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:02 PM
Ah Jeff you have been mentioned on the podcast again. I am right their with you on the dislike of the Humpy Dance
Posted by: 80sfan | December 30, 2007 at 04:03 PM
LOL LOL ... hover over every continent!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 04:04 PM
I need to catch up... pass me the tap!
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:04 PM
I think Sean's new nickname is going to be "Hover Craft" lol
Ya know, the goobs from Dirty Dancing could have stuck with a proper genre when choosing tunage for the soundtrack, don't ya think?
IT BURNS! IT BURNS!
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:04 PM
Steve, we need to make you a list of 80s movies you must see.
Posted by: 80sfan | December 30, 2007 at 04:05 PM
I went totally nuts there with sound effects. That's me screaming into my hands and doing all sorts of weird lung sounds. Dolphin noises, I call them.
Sorta like Bill Murray in the weirder Caddyshack moments.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:06 PM
You know, Ed should just wear a KICK MY A&& sign from now on.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:07 PM
Don't worry, it takes a lot to get under my skin. 20 years in the public works business has left me with a rhino-like hide.
Posted by: Jeff in Cuba | December 30, 2007 at 04:07 PM
The geek card is being played with the Star Trek stuff. Although, I love Ster Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. I guess I have my geek card out too.
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:08 PM
Sweet sounds, Steve ...
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:08 PM
100 posts!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 04:08 PM
Have you started the show yet, Jeff?
It's all downhill after minute #2.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:08 PM
Sweet sounds, Steve ...
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:09 PM
I think my presence is key to getting comments over 100 bwahahaha
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:09 PM
Pseudo Echo compared to Spandau Ballet? Not even close.
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:10 PM
Heyyyyy I helped too!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 04:11 PM
I know I know I know!!!!

There is blog topic for you... Dirtiest Ipod Secrets
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 04:13 PM
I'm only at 'Lean On Me' in the podcast. One of those songs that was remade too often.
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:14 PM
You don't like Manilow Steve?
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 04:14 PM
All the songs in this week's show have a certain acid reflux quality to them, except the last one, I should say.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:15 PM
I can't believe I am about to confess this. My dirties iPod secret...Joey Lawrence.
Posted by: 80sfan | December 30, 2007 at 04:15 PM
dang it! I just choked on another Wheat Thin.. Spandau Ballet
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:16 PM
I liked Manilow when I was, say, 12 years old. He's too American Idol for us now.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:16 PM
Oh, and I do believe I HAVE Sent both of you gentlemen my preferred format for the podcast. Just dismiss my thoughts and opinions! hmmph lol
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:17 PM
I never want to know how to do 'The Dance of the Seven Buttons'... ever. Too many scary images enter my head at the mention of it.
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:17 PM
Barry Manilow now resembles a Sea Monkey
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:18 PM
awww it's all quiet now! I'm hitting replay. I like having Sean and Steve in my ears.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:19 PM
Agreed Marissa... he's looking pretty scary these days!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 04:20 PM
T'Pau was espoused to Spock in the classic "Amok Time" episode.
I'm dangerously close to being the kind of geek other geeks call a geek...
Posted by: Jeff in Cuba | December 30, 2007 at 04:20 PM
'clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right..here I am, stuck in the middle with you."
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:20 PM
I just saw some blip yesterday about Manilow making a Greatest Songs of the Eighties album. Nooooooooooo!
All I could think of was the Paul Anka Rock Swings album. I still haven't been able to get over that.
Posted by: 80sfan | December 30, 2007 at 04:21 PM
But Jeff, you're the kind of geek no one would dare inflict a wedgey upon.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:21 PM
Sean is still harping on 'The Humpty Dance'? The song SUCKS!!!
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:23 PM
For the record Steve, Jill or Stephanie would be a welcome addition to the podcast.
However I patiently awaiting the day that Sean's FF makes a guest appearance.
Posted by: 80sfan | December 30, 2007 at 04:23 PM
Humpty Dance does suck... but it's much better than Hot Hot Hot!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 04:25 PM
I spent 1987 living in a tiny Waikiki apartment, so Living In A Box really spoke to me.
Posted by: Jeff in Cuba | December 30, 2007 at 04:25 PM
Dirty Dancing most overrated of the 80's... Amen Brother!
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:25 PM
I've just discovered, to my great shock and amazement, that I do not have T'Pau's Heart and Soul! I trip to iTunes is now required.
Posted by: 80sfan | December 30, 2007 at 04:27 PM
I'm replaying Sean's rant again ... priceless!
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:27 PM
Anyone else finish the show yet? Final thoughts?
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:28 PM
Nah I think St. Elmo's Fire is more overrated.
Posted by: 80sfan | December 30, 2007 at 04:28 PM
sorry for being redundant. I'm loopy
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:28 PM
Yea, between Sean's blogs of 70's softrock list, and his 4 hour playlist for the party and now One hit wonders of 87.. I'm going to be broke visiting Itunes!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 04:29 PM
Love the show Steve!
Posted by: 80sfan | December 30, 2007 at 04:29 PM
I finished it a few minutes ago Steve. I am a fan of the sausage hang. I laugh more. For crying out loud, you guys made me choke.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:29 PM
Which Sean rant do you speak of?
And I'm listening to the show now for a second time. Only because my Windows Media is set for repeat. The preferred setting for viewing porn -- which is of course something Sean told me.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:29 PM
My favorite Go West tune: King Of Wishful Thinking
Posted by: Jeff in Cuba | December 30, 2007 at 04:29 PM
King of Wishful Thinking is indeed ... fantastiche!
And that's not the beer talking.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:31 PM
Another great show! Love a good old fashioned sausage-hang!
I usually listen to the shows at work on my ipod... and have to try to silence my laughter, snickers and chuckles... it was nice to listen to it first at home and laugh out loud!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 04:31 PM
When you play Spandau Ballet followed up with the boogita boogita
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:31 PM
Dirtiest i-pod secret? That's a tough one I have so many. I do have Air Supply and Manilow on my i-pod. Would Alan Sherman be a dirty i-pod secret?
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:32 PM
King of Wishful thinking was used in Pretty Woman. I own that soundtrack.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:32 PM
I wasn't entirely sure what to make of the show after we recorded it. Sean was convinced it was solid gold.
But after hearing the final cut, I'm happy with it.
I'm bewildered that I bleeped all the s-bombs for the first half of the show, and left them all in for the second half.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:32 PM
I wondered that, too. I think you were giddy with Khan!
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:34 PM
It burns! It burns!
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:35 PM
Sean just called me here at home. He's gonna try to stop in and chat for a while.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:36 PM

Sean can gripe all he wants about Swing Out Sister (which I'll admit is an inexplicable choice).
When we went head-to-head, he brought "The Humpty Dance" and I came with "Good Times".

'Break My Stride' is definitely a dirty i-pod secret.
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:37 PM
Hey guys! My Saints just got their butts kicked by Da Bears so I'm here listening to the new podcast. Daly is in rare form.
Posted by: Tom | December 30, 2007 at 04:37 PM
Is it weird that I listen to the podcasts several times?
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:37 PM
Jeff 1, Sean 0

Tom.. my Niners just got their butts kicked too... but given their season.. it was expected! Come hang out here.. it promises to be a much better experience!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 04:38 PM
Daly's "Humpty Dance" is something that he'll never live down.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:38 PM
yeah bears! their training camp is here where I live..well, they don't come to my house, but you get the general idea.

Do do do de dooo doooooo, all our problems, all our fears......INXS is in the comment forum!

The only time I followed Da Bears is when they won the Super Bowl. I had a copy of the Super Bowl Shuffle, a poster of the team, and sweet yearning for Dan Hampton.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:40 PM
I listen to each podcast about 3-4 times, depending on various factors.
Keep in mind that I basically hear it 3-4 times BEFORE I even release it for iTunes.
Sean, on the other hand, says he rarely listens. He hates hearing his own voice.

AL!!!!!!!!!!

I mean, I thought I didn't have a life.....seems that the 80's Groupies don't either.
Thankfully I'm the tour photographer. Good times!

Hey Party Stars!
Just a quickie cameo to spread the love around.
So we're digging the podcast?
Posted by: Sean Daly | December 30, 2007 at 04:42 PM
OH yeah, I remember discussing that when I called in.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:42 PM
The Bears won that Super Bowl my freshman year at University of Florida. We were all Bears fans that year.
We bought and keg and snuck it into the dorm TV room and got tanked. Then set the kitchen on fire in a bad late-night drunken decision. (Hey, I didn't know bugspray was flammable.)
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:43 PM
It's fantabulous, Sean.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:43 PM
Steve, I used to be with Sean, on that topic. I couldn't listen to my own voice at all......eventually I made my peace with it, "Hmm, well I am going to be on the air."
Super Bowl Shuffle! I crank that every year when I sit down to watch the Super Bowl.

Hi Sean!
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:43 PM
Anyone recognize the movie I clipped for the line, "We have a little saying here in Munchen ... get the F--k out."
??
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:44 PM
I decided I need vocal coaching after hearing myself on the podcast. I couldn't get in my standard sexy voice position while driving to work.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:45 PM
One comment and Sean is gone, I guess.
So who's your buddy? Who's here for hour 3 of the live chat?
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:46 PM
We're not doing it because we're greedy, the Bears are doing it to feed the needy!
Awesome lyric......it even got nominated for a Grammy......which explains why I never watched the Grammies.

Mary's Prayer to end the show, excellent! It took me forever, but I found that CD. I loved that album in 1987. It was one of my most played. Aberdeen is another great tune from that one.
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:46 PM
Sean (aka hoverboy)... explain to me what a Lobster Shell bath is.... and please go into details on your Dance of the Seven Buttons!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 04:46 PM
Steve's My buddy! My buddy! Wherever he goes I goooooooooo
Creeped out yet?
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:47 PM
Hey Bassnote!
I was gonna hit you guys with a new blogation this morning -- but technical difficulties ensued. Good to see Spears is throwing a blog bash, tho. You guys should hit 3,000 comments by midnight.
Posted by: Sean Daly | December 30, 2007 at 04:47 PM
razzin' frazzin! I'm getting really irritated with having to justify my comments to a 'bot!
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:48 PM
Another fantastish podcast! I have to listen again.
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:48 PM
Lobster baths, Seven Buttons, the Hover -- all will be explained in good time.
Okay, I'm outta here.
Let me know when we start taking off clothes...
Posted by: Sean Daly | December 30, 2007 at 04:49 PM
For the record, I have "Mary's Prayer" on my iTunes. I've had it for some time. So, I'm groovy with it being the reader's choice!
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:50 PM
Who said clothes were on, Sean?
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:50 PM
Oh come on Sean, stick around!
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:52 PM
And if we said that time was now Sean, would you be so quick to be leaving us?
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 04:52 PM
Sean, we don't have to take our clothes off to have a good time.
Posted by: 80sfan | December 30, 2007 at 04:53 PM
I dunno what ya'll are talkin' about with clothes. Doesn't everybody listen to the podcasts naked?
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:53 PM
I'm keeping my clothes on because it would be too hard to explain to my daughters why I'm naked in front of the computer, and I don't want to scar them for life.
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:54 PM
It's really hard to listen to the podcast and type at the same time, you guys are killing me! How could you not have heard of The System, "Don't Disturb This Groove" was played a bunch on the radio back in the day.
Posted by: Tom | December 30, 2007 at 04:55 PM
I heard it, i just chose to turn the radio station when it came on! ACK!
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:56 PM
The System were great. David Frank did a lot of soundtrack work in the 80's too.
Posted by: Bassnote | December 30, 2007 at 04:57 PM
Naked surfing is a great past time, as long as you're home alone. It's a bit awkward if the kid walks in I would imagine.
Posted by: Tom | December 30, 2007 at 04:57 PM
I swear I've never heard of The System or that song until last week.
Just talked to Sean on the phone again. He's gone from the chat, but he might pop up online later tonight. Ya never know.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:58 PM
I'll sadly admit that I'm not nude chatting, but instead wearing a Bucs shirt and boxer shorts. It's HOT HOT HOT in Florida today.
Posted by: Spears | December 30, 2007 at 04:59 PM
We took up a lot of his time Friday and Last night.
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 04:59 PM
Hi Steve, great way to spend an afternoon!
Posted by: Tom | December 30, 2007 at 04:59 PM
Yeah, The system... not sure if they had another hit... but I do remember this one being played, and wait... let me check... yep, it's on my ipod!
Posted by: Carla | December 30, 2007 at 05:00 PM
WE're nearing 200
Posted by: Marissa | December 30, 2007 at 05:00 PM
I may do live chats each week when I put a new podcast online. Still mulling over the idea.
Sean's thinking of doing regular live chats as well.
