'Ma-Ma-Mama, we're all crazy now'
Do you honestly think we'd let the death of Quiet Riot singer Kevin DuBrow pass without a special Stuck in the 80s podcast in his honor?
This week's show features the greatest hits from Quiet Riot, some really obscure trivia on the band's history and Sean Daly's sudden and disturbing confession about how he himself would like to die. No, it's not in a tragic body-hair transplant operation. And no, it's not while making passionate love to Pamela Sue Martin. Though clearly that would have been the correct answer.

And enjoy the rare photo of the band taken from the 1983 Us Festival. Does that concert exist on DVD? Because I'm thinking that might be a cool holiday present for 80s shut-ins like myself.

I got home from work last night (after spending 20 minutes scraping 1/4" ice off my car windows) and was so excited to see another podcast ready for my listening enjoyment.
WHOA! It was demented and sad, but social. I'm at a loss for words. However, you guys weren't :)
A lot of laughs were had. The bottom line is that Quiet Riot and Kevin DuBrow made and indelible mark on music in the 80s ::cue music::

You thought it was sad, Marissa? I didn't think so. More of a celebration than a wake.
Also one of the SHORTEST podcasts in about six months! Sorry about that.

Yes, it was a celebratory tribute to Kevin DuBrow. Sad that I learned more about Sean than I ever thought I would in 26 minutes lol Nice sound effects, by the way.
I listened to the podcast 3 times. What more can you ask for?

3 times? You're a trooper, Marissa.
I still think Sean needs his own T.V. show mocking celebrities though.

And what a voice......yowzers.
I agree, we need a cartoons of the '80's podcast. G.I. Joe, the original TMNT, these were classics. Early 90's were better for cartoons, but the 80's were still pretty good, before all this anime crap. So unoriginal, all the cartoons look the same.

Great podcast tribute to Mr. DuBrow. I followed up listening to the podcast by playing Metal Health on my i pod. Truly an original.

Don't forget, if you do a cartoons podcast, you get to include the Smurfs, My Little Gelding, err, pony ... Clan of the Care Bears, or Cave Bears, or whatever ... and the origins of the Simpsons ... there's a lot of meat on those bones. Just sayin' ..
And I continue to beg you to do a 'cast on something relating to the social scene, the last gasp of the cold war, the reign of Ronnie Ray-Gun (to quote Iron Eagle), the birth of conservatism on college campuses ... there was a lot going on. yeah, I know, it's work, but you're up to it .. movies and music are the low-haning fruit ... go get 'em ...

Chasie -- I've got Daly as a partner. Think that one over for a minute. I can't even get him to do a show on New Wave music. You think I'll get him on a show about the birth of conservatism?
Maybe a show about the birth of pudding pops.
Posted by: Spears | December 02, 2007 at 10:40 PM
haha! Steve, that got a big snorty giggle from me. pudding pops! Sean will start working on his Bill Cosby impression any day now.
Posted by: Marissa | December 02, 2007 at 10:43 PM
The only pudding pop impression Sean can do is one being eaten in one gulp.
Ah, I jest. Sean is a lean, mean funny machine.
