Let's go to the mall -- again
I'm a late-comer to the genius of CBS's "How I Met Your Mother" -- nobody can resist Doogie Howser in any form -- so I didn't see the following video until just this week:
As an 80s parody, it's nearly flawless. But it's still second place to "Pop Goes My Heart" from the movie "Music & Lyrics. (Click here to enjoy Hugh Grant channeling Wham!)

This is great! Bonus points for making fun of Canadian accents (for those of you unfamiliar with the show, the character that is singing is Canadian)

I finally have my computer back and could watch this! LOVED IT! Dressed like that and thankfully have no photos to proove it. We lived at the mall, even going so far as to walk for an hour once to get there because there were no parents available to drive!!

The only thing that kept creeping back into my brain as I watched was the refrain from Mojo Nixon's 80s anthem...Burn Down The Malls.
Otherwise a pretty good parody of the whole Tiffany/Debbie Gibson genre.

I gotta go with the Mall on this one, the references to Madonna, Tiffany, Debbie (ERRRRRR Deborah) Gibson are great. All it is missing is the poster roll-down.

So funny. I can relate to the style of dress. When I graduated high school. I wacked my hair off and had a super short funky cut. I wore the half shirt with Chinese writing, paper bag waist pants, wrestler style boots, Wayfarers. Egads, what a trip.

That's pretty good!
They even did their homework, as PM "Lyin' Brian" Mulroney left office in 1993.
Though it doesn't really look like him. Just a small problemo with it.
Haha, why the heck is the Rocky IV robot in the video!

So when is the next podcast Steve?

Sean and I were just at my desk, laughing about the slap bet. Usually we're in separate rooms when we podcast, so it wouldn't work.

That video is great and so is How I Met Your Mother! I think you and Sean should have a slap bet that runs throughout the podcast like how it runs through their show. :)

The mall video....I met my high school Love at the mall while I was walking around looking for trouble! She was shopping at The Limited! Funny video, the dancing is...so 80's! I need to practice some of those moves!
Pop Goes My Heart is actually a good song. Though a parody, the song is damn catchy. My kids love that damn video. In fact, they want to do their version of Pop Goes My Heart and put it on You Tube.

Dude! Robin Sparkles is awesome -- this video makes me laugh every time I watch it.
And not just because that's EXACTLY how I dressed in the '80s, right down to the big bow in the hair and the leggings under the denim mini.
And NPH (aka Doogie) is a comic genius on this show.
