Countdown to Van Halen
The nearly original lineup of Van Halen hits Tampa tonight for a show at the St. Pete Times Forum. According to Stuck in the 80s co-host Sean Daly, the show should be sold out by the time Diamond Dave and the boys hit the stage.
I'll be there, singing along with all the old-school tunes. After all, the band is only playing hits from 1978 through 1985. Does it get any better than that? Here's the expected set list:
- You Really Got Me
- I'm the One
- Runnin' With the Devil
- Romeo Delight
- Somebody Get Me A Doctor
- Beautiful Girls
- Dance the Night Away
- Atomic Punk
- Everybody Wants Some
- So This Is Love?
- Mean Street
- (Oh) Pretty Woman
- Alex Van Halen drum solo
- Unchained
- I'll Wait
- And the Cradle Will Rock
- Hot for Teacher
- Little Dreamer
- Little Guitars
- Jamie's Cryin'
- Ice Cream Man
- Panama
- Eddie Van Halen guitar solo medley
- Ain't Talkin''Bout Love
- Encores: 1984 (intro) and Jump

Relive the music, movies and culture of the greatest decade ever with Times online editor Steve Spears. A teen during the decade, Steve is obsessed with everything from Duran Duran to Journey, John Hughes to John Cusack, and parachute pants to Reaganomics.
E-mail Steve Spears:

It'll be awesome Steve, enjoy it while it lasts!
I'm sure if they extend the tour long enough, VH will degenerate into 2 hours of Dave leaping and kicking while Eddie runs after him with a flamethrower.

Oh wow! David P, that was pretty darn funny. The editing on it was very well done. Hilarious! Thanks for that. It really struck a chord with my funny bone.

OK -- that video was hilarious. Edited brilliantly.
I don't know which made me laugh harder -- DLR's horrible, horrible hair or the fact that he was identified as being 64 years old. HAHAHAHAHA!

Holy crap, I couldn't stop laughing.
Brilliant!

Can't wait to hear how it was there. They came to Des Moines and I heard it was terrible. Of course, #1, it was in Des Moines afterall and #2, they aren't the spring chickens they used to be. Look forward to hearing about your review

Whatever you say ,Van Halen band had added a lot of things to hard rock music since late seventies. Even if the band has known some troubles during the nineties they come back strongly in the latest years and they succeeded to regain their position. Their popularity is obviously noticeable and in each concert they strengthen their position. I’m one of the hard rock lovers and I’ve a special love for Van Halen band and I’ve attended a lot of concerts. If you, too, are music lovers and you attend concerts there’s a website to compare ticket prices for free before booking and find the best offer price. Today, it is better to make such comparison and save few dollars and avoid ticket brokers' "blackmail" if we may call it so. Here is the link:
