Eddie Money goes country
Give me some water! Actually make it something stronger, because this is a shocker: Eddie Money is remaking his hits from the '80s as country tunes for his next album.
The first single from "The Other Side of Money" -- his first album of new material since 1999 -- will be "Give Me Some Water." Country crooner Vince Gill supplies the background vocals for the song, which is set for release this weekend.
Other hits set for remake include "Two Tickets to Paradise" and "Hard Life," according to the Associated Press.

I agree, Peppe! Checked out the Big 7 site too and love the songs. Vince's addition is great to what Eddie already has going on. As a country fan I thought it was way cool to see these two legends along with Johnny Gunn and John Ford Coley (you know, as in England Dan and John Ford Coley) join in with an up and coming young star, Tom Wurth from the Big 7 label to put together this cool project. I think it could be a country (ACM or CMA) Vocal Event with all these names and all this talent! I also checked out Tom Wurth's site as I understand he is a new country artist and was way impressed. His new single, "Good Ground," is a great song!

This song Rocks It is bigger and better than any production that could be done in the 80s. Its plain to me that people are have a hard time accepting todays music.Eddie is a true classic rocker Those comments above are truly from people who dont understand a great song will always be a great song. Go Eddie I heard it on big7records site greats players can only do one thing . Make great music

Well, he wouldn't be the first "Brooklyn Cowboy" (Ramblin' Jack Elliott and Eddie Rabbitt beat him to it). There's a fine line between Eddie Money and Jimmy Thudpucker.

Saw it. Shared it. Embedded it on my blog. Took it out for a late supper and dancing.
Funniest viral ever? Yeah. Silverman's was good. Kimmel's was hysterically brilliant.

I saw it, Ray. Best viral ever? I'd say so.

I will give the CD a try. It can't be any worse than David Lee Roth's "Strummin With The Devil".
Speaking of Huey Lewis, did anyone else catch his appearance in the recent "Jimmy Kimble / Ben Afflick" video. (No link because some may consider it "Not Safe For Work")?

Al, you hopeless romantic, you...
Good point (as always) Jeff -- I would not consider myself a country aficionado at all, but I do dig and listen to Mary Chapin Carpenter and Lyle Lovett with great regularity.

Ever since Mary Chapin Carpenter and Lyle Lovett started kicking down the wall between pop and country I've stopped trying to tell them apart.

Eddie needs to go back to the old 80s philosophy... just say NO!

Ah, the Chief weighs in. I was wondering if the Eddie Money post would draw you out.
I'll listen to the new country versions and see where it goes.

Now maybe you guys will have a country show. Just like Huey Lewis said in his Sean blasting interview...the music I would most be like today would be country. I also note that you never mention any of the Country work that Huey has done with Asleep at the Wheel.
