You gotta have Faith-a, Faith-a, Faith!
Talk about getting stoned: George Michael has signed on to appear in more episodes of ABC's "Eli Stone,"
the new legal drama/comedy about an attorney (played by Jonny Lee
Miller) who begins to think he's a prophet after a series of bizarre
hallucinations.
The first one: Hearing George Michael's "Faith" over and over again
during the series pilot last week. Michael then appears -- singing on
Eli's coffee table and in the lobby of his office. It's an entertaining
start to the series, which appears again tonight at 10 p.m. Eastern
time. (I'm hooked on it after one episode.)
TV Guide reports that Michael will return in the show's eighth and ninth episodes to both sing and act.
"Having George and his music in the pilot was great because it really set the tone for the entire show," executive producer Marc Guggenheim told TV Guide. "He's such a talented and smart guy and amazingly collaborative."

Watched the pilot last night. Great show -- I'm a huge fan of Greg Berlanti's other current show, "Brothers and Sisters" so I'm not surprised that I dug this one as well (Ken Olin, he of "Thirty-Something" fame, directed the episode. Yeah, I'm a credits nerd.) The use of George Michael & "Faith" was not only amusing but plot-driven -- excellent.
So now I'm only one show behind, with last night's on the DVR.

Steve, I'm really glad you mentioned this show last night. I watched it online, too. (Thanks for the head's up, Bassnote).
I totally dig the quirky character of Dr. Chen, Accupuncturist.
There are a lot of programs that toss in 80s music and references. 'Carpoolers' gives us 80s tunes, and 'Family Guy' is filled with references to our favorite decade.

Steve is right. This show is going to help George make a big comeback.

I watched the show online yesterday, and I thought it was great. It'll be great if Eli starts having conversations with George. I'm waiting for the inevitable, "What happened to the other guy in Wham?"

Glad to see ABC participates in work-release programs. I haven't seen the show, but if it is any good, it won't last long on the air.

I watched the show last week. I notices during a commerical break that 4 ads in a row had 80's music. Perhaps we aren't the only ones Stuck in the 80's

Don't be surprised if he turns from punchline to pop hero again pretty quickly.

It's a good show, nice and offbeat. The cameos remind me of Mick Jagger's hilarious participation in last year's "Knights Of Prosperity".
George Michael is very talented and has done some great songs. It's a shame he's turned himself into a punchline.
