She'll be "Alone" soon enough

What is it with American Idol contestants? Last time someone tried singing a Heart song, all three judges -- even the less-than-sober one -- chastised the foolhardy soul for attempting to tackle a tune originally recorded with such a tremendous voice. So imagine the shock last night when I saw Ramiele Malubay try "Alone." By the way, it's supposed to sound like this:

Never, ever try to sing a heart song unless your name happens to be Ann Wilson.

Steve, I was worried about you last night. I'd hoped that you didn't see Ramiele give "Alone" the Ronco Slicer treatment. She needs to go. As Jane said, "The Good Ship Shorty Spice needs to set sail" -- or something like that.

By the way, back in '87 I used to crimp my hair in attempts to get that Ann Wilson look. Oddly, the color of my hair has lightened up over the years. Hmmm

There are just some people that imitation is NOT the best form of flatery...

From your mouth to America's ears, Mr. Spears.

Adios, Good Ship Shorty Spice.

*crosses fingers and other assorted body parts*

She must be silenced permanently for her desecration of a good tune. If Ann was there, she would have beat the crap out of the kid.
