"Why do they call you 'Lassie'?"

Mannequin_kim_cattrallIn all the celebration and media blitz over the new "Sex and the City" flick, fans tend to forget that Kim Cattrall, everyone's favorite sex-crazed cougar, got her start in the 80s in movies like Mannequin, Police Academy and Turk 182.

And also a little 1982 gem called "Porky's."

I know I carry the banner for the 80s nation, but I'll confess I didn't really think the movie was all that funny. Except for that one glorious scene with Cattrall in the boy's locker room. Turn down the volume on your computer first, then click here to relive the horny teenage magic.

Yes, Tom. That is very odd. I think you're in a class by yourself. However, there's no judgement.
I liked, "The Last Crusade" best of the Indiana Jones flicks. So, there ya go.

specialk

that would be some serious drunk movie watching right there!! A Porky's party.. ha ha ha. Out of control!

Tom

I actually liked the second one better. Is that odd?

Miguel

It`s a big adventure indeed

Marissa

Miguel, I'm certain we'd have to be drunk to endure that many hours of "Porky's"

Miguel

Just imagine watching the whole Porky`s trilogy back to back, drunk at a party. A Porky`s party!

Marissa

I've seen this movie a couple of times. I'm pretty certain it was at the drive-in. Admitting that I paid to watch Porky's Revenge is shameful.

Chuck Mitchell (Porky) would go on to play the owner of the restaurant where Lane Myer has his "Everybody Wants Some" daydream ... and dons that crazy pig hat.

specialkness

HA HA HA Marissa - Sam is a more sophisticated version of Lassie!
I admist to liking AND owning Porky's on DVD (the flip side has Porky's 2); maybe it's the memories of hanging out and watching it with all those boys in Junior High.

Spears

I'm not saying it's an awful movie. Just a tad overrated. Maybe 3-4 funny scenes, none of which actually happen at Porky's.

But just about any scene with Pee-Wee is great. And of course, the shower scene and follow-up scene in the principal's office.

CHAD

i must confess, i have never seen a movie drunk(at least in a theater). but i have to disagree with mr. spears, porkys is a hilarious romp. i remember the monday after it came out, it was all the rage in the hallways of eunice high school. i have it on dvd(its the two-fer), with porky 2 on the other side. like all of the recntly discussed, i havent seen it in a while.

Marissa

SpecialK, probably because of the parallels between Samantha and Lassie. Too close for comfort? bwahaha

specialkness

Drunk movies... ah the memories! Jane I do believe this is one of the movies that I saw drunk too... laughed my you know what off! Another movie I saw drunk... Beverly Hills Cop III in Canada; they only way to get through that miserable flick!
BTW on an interview with Kim Cattral they did mention Mannequin but definitly no mention of Porkys... don't know why!

Douglas Arthur

this is one of those movies that i have never seen. I heard a lot about it from my friends at school, but my parents were very conservative and wouldn't allow me to see an R-Rated movie. When I was older I just never got around to seeing it. I do remember the perverse thrill of seeing my first R-Rated movie at my friend Chris' house on a halloween sleepover in 8th grade. And somehow when i was 15 I convinced my mother to let me go see Rocky Horror with my teammates from the cross country team at a midnight show. I still don't know how I got her to say yes to that!
The first "sex comedy" I saw was Private Lessons with Sylvia Krystal and Howard Hesseman as the butler. Not great, but I did get to see my first on-screen boobies! Anyway...what were we talking about? Oh, yeah, the Lassie scene in Porky's. That was much talked about as I recall, and I didn't understand it at all...conservative parents and all...when I was in college and dating did I finally understand.

The fade-to-black shot of the grinning Eisenhower portrait during the principal's office explaination of the, er, shower scene just kills me. I mean, it killed me when 28 years ago when I was 16.

whew!

jane

That clip gives new meaning to the term "voices carry."

And Boyd Gaines! I'd forgotten he was in this.

I have fond memories of seeing Porky's -- most likely fueled by the fact that my pals and I were under the influence of some Chi-Chi's margaritas when we saw it. First movie I ever saw drunk. So it has a special place in my heart for that reason alone.

Miguel

Kim Catrall`s orgasm in Porky`s is one of the funniest moments in 80s movies.

Erwin Blonk

The 2 minutes that justify this otherwise lame flick. I saw the film during a movie afternoon on the Christian school I went to for a few years. The principal (one of those uber-conservative people) almost popped his eyes out when he walked pass the class where we were watching but didn't stop it. I guess someone had to explain something afterwards. Woooooooohhhhhhhh!!!!!
