Still in love with an Uptown Girl?
Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook have seen better days. Like this one above in 2003, when husband and wife traveled on the last commercial flight of the Concorde.
Today though, Brinkley's in divorce court in New York, the start of what figures to be an emotional and media-infested hearing over who will end up with custody of their two kids: Sports Illustrated bathing beauty Christie (who wants full custody) ... or the guy who cheated on her with his teenage assistant (who'd like to share custody).
"I'd hoped with all my heart we could have settled this out of court," she told assembled reporters, according to the New York Daily News.
Aw, why settle out of court, when you go into a public hearing and tell everyone your husband spends $3,000 a month on porn? Click here if you really want to know more.
Until the mud dries, please enjoy the video of the song that broken-hearted, 80s hero, former husband and all-around good guy Billy Joel swears he'll never sing again.

Finally, gossip about people I've actually heard of. Thanks for the laugh John Hays.

Hey, Steve, I wasn't busting your chops for taking sides
(whether you did or not). Divorce isn't always a 50-50 thing.
A lot of times it's pretty clear that one person's offense is
that they reacted.
Sometimes it's a case of somebody else starting "it."

She means Stewart Copeland, aka that other guy sitting far behind the vastly more-talented Sting. (JOKE! Don't kill!)
We don't all need to vote on who's responsible for the latest celeb divorce. Just put it up for a little FYI. And because I really hate the song "Uptown Girl."

Stewart? Please God don't let that be Rod Stewart. *throws up a little in mouth*

I had a ridiculous thing for Billy Joel in the '80s (not as ridiculous as my thing for Stewart, but then again, nothing can compare to that...) and played "An Innocent Man" to death. Even went dressed as Uptown Girl Christie to more than one MTV-themed fraternity social.
This divorce is gonna get sticky, from what I've read. In US Weekly, natch.

Remember Billy Joel cheated on her also.

Hey maybe Billy can drive Peter to the courthouse!

I like a little 80s celebrity gossip mixed in with my sad-sack stories of teenage angst.
I'm not blaming either party. Just having some fun at someone else's expense -- for a change.

Did anybody else out there watch 46664-Nelson's 90th Birthday Bash? Did anyone else think SIMPLE MINDS sounded a little weary? & that QUEEN with frontman Paul Rodgers killed? Altho Q drummer Roger now looks like Luke on General Hospital or Wolf Blitzer & I really wasn't sure it was in fact one of them sittin it.

Both Christi and Billy are serial divorcees, so it's hard for me
to place blame on either one: seems both must be hell to live with!
Still, it says a lot that Joel won't play probably his biggest hit
because of her.
