Timothy Dalton: Greatest Bond ever
Oh no, not really. I just wanted to get your blood boiling a little early. Though actually, I'd say Living Daylights and License to Kill are two of the most underrated Bond flicks of any decade.
But we're talking Bond in the '80s here -- at least on this week's Stuck in the '80s podcast. Co-host Sean Daly does everything in his power to turn the talk all smutty, but guest-host Steve Persall and I managed to keep the discussion above the waist whenever possible.
What can you expect in this week's show?
- The longest skit ever conceived for Stuck in the '80s with a budget somewhere along the lines of Daly's monthly liquor bill.
- Clips of our favorite Bond movies and songs -- with the bare amount of falsetto sing-a-longs.
- This week's manifesto from Jeff in Cuba, our nation's first and last line of defense against the creeping menace of Communism.

E-mail Steve Spears:

License to Kill is a Bond movie I go back to a lot. Dalton's Bond and the lack of a lot of silly gadgets is great!

Listening to the podcast... love the song A View to a Kill horrible movie! The video is better than the film!

GAH! "For Your Eyes Only" is pure cheese. I'm with Sean on that one. Of course, my sister changed the lyrics when singing it and that might be the reason I can't take it seriously.
"for your eyes only ... I'll dance without a bra"

I just caught the last hour of "Never Say Never Again" on Spike TV. What a dog. The short shorts that Connery spent much of the movie in, need to be banned.

Hooray for Persall! I love when Sean sings, but it was pretty funny when SP threatened to leave if he did it again. Then, the 007 ringtone! Holy Bond Girl, Batman! Was that for real? If so, Princess Di has excellent timing.
By the way, my ringtone is the original SIT80s intro. Yeah. I'm a geek. Oh, please don't sue me.

That was really Persall's cellphone going off.

I Liked Tim. He was a lot better that cheezy Roger Moore!

I`m listening this podcast now. Christopher Walken doesn`t do bad movies,Steve? I`m with Sean on asking if Chris Walken does any good movies at all. He`s a great actor and he`s on one of the coolest videoclips ever directed by Spike Jonze, but good movies?

I`m with you on License To Kill Spearsy! It`s interesting.I was introduced to Bond with Timothy Dalton.I think Living Daylights and License To Kill were the first Bond movies i watched when i was a kid,and i always prefered Timothy Dalton than Roger Moore.

Pierce "The Lawnmower Man" Brosnan - probably my favorite Bond.

I like the way Brosnan pounded the Russian. And I'm not talking about Miss Ivanahumpalot. I'm talking about the potato juice.

I admit I am a Dalton fan as well, and I like License to Kill especially for the plot. I love the Bond going rogue to avenge his friend, very gutsy.
