Joan Jett, meet Kristen Stewart
Joan Jett loves rock n' roll. But will she love Kristen Stewart playing the role of her much-younger self in the new biopic The Runaways?
The movie, according to Reuters, will chronicle the late '70s all-girl group, which featured Jett, Lita Ford, Sandy West, Cherie Currie and Jackie Fox. The Runaways stuck together about four years, breaking up for good in '79 after the usual cycle of sex, drugs and money tore them apart.
The movie, written and directed by Floria Sigismondi with Jett onboard as executive producer, could begin filming in 2009. The main obstacle is working around the commitment by Stewart (left) to appear in sequels to the Twilight vampire series, in which she plays the part of bloodsucker-loving Bella.
