You've seen our polls, here's one from the Tampa Bay Business Journal

From the Tampa Bay Business Journal:

"St. Petersburg elected officials will soon decide whether to give residents the chance to vote on the proposed Rays stadium land use. But when the issue was offered up to a wider audience, readers were narrowly in favor of the stadium plan -- but not by much.

"That's the finding of the latest Business Pulse Survey, the nonscientific weekly online poll from the Tampa Bay Business Journal. The vote attracted 570 responses with 41 percent, or 239, in favor of the plan and 227, or 39 percent, opposed. Nearly 1 in 5 said they need to know more before they can decide."

Interested readers? Who?

This is journalism at its worst.

What a sham! And the Times re-prints it as fact.

Why not just say everyone in St. Pete is for the staduim and do away with the appearance of legitimacy?

This is a crock!

What do you expect from a "business survey"? This is the equivalent of asking the Chamber if they thought a development would benefit the city regardless of the extenuating circumstances.....of course! all development is good in their myopic view as any business growth is good in the "business survey". The Times continues it's foray into worthless pablum.

What percentage of respondents even live in Pinellas County? Completely irrelevant survey, guys.

The majority of respondents said they either did not support the plan or didn't have enough details to make a decision.

Funny. Aaron posts information about a survey that probably exagerates the "anti" representation by about 300 - 400 percent, and the ANTI's are angry!

Ha!

I'll spare you my tpyical 18 paragraph circular babble that would be fit to line a parakeet cage if it were printed in a paper and cut to the chase for once.
I don't like it!
I don't like sports!
Even if it somehow paid for itself I am going to find something about it that I do not like ... possibly the proposed color of the stadium and how it more than likely won't mesh with the surroundings ... if they can't agree on that we should NOT have it on the ballot!

hahahahahaha John. Great stuff.

And once again we see the intellect of the supporters.

Would have been a better post if you had used an obscene name instead of just impersonating someone else.

And once again we see the intellect of the supporters.

Would have been a better post if you had used an obscene name that incorporates other posters instead of just impersonating one. Work on that.

Please do not take advice from Thomas.

It would not have been a better post with obscenity.

Although I do think it would have been better for the debate if the poster made it clear he was not really Jon McPhee.

It might confuse some.
