I don't know whether you're for or against the stadium Aaron, but it would be pretty bada$$ if you started banging a cowbell during the proceedings to get a laugh.
So what,
"Spineless, lazy, idiots" you say.
Wow a vote to continue discussion makes you lazy. It means a hell of a lot of extra work for them the longer this goes on. Way to insult our city Government because they don't follow your marching orders.
A waterfront stadium ain't gonna happen. The neighborhoods will come out in force and vote and kill it all. We will take back our city from these NY criminals and their Brown Shirt allies in City Hall.
Unfortunate for us, there are no other cities that will be sucker enough to give these leaches a half a billion dollars. So we are stuck with them.
We Will Control the Vertical. We Will Control the Horizontal. We Will Take You from a Soft Blur to a Sharp Focus. We are in Control ...We are the PEOPLE!!!

Thank You Mr. J on your critique of the sites in question. The city will go bankrupt with any financial plan. The money just isn't here.
----------
I wish that the site had enough room to put parkland between the stadium and the water. The waterfront has set off the sacred cow syndrome that we can't touch even though it's not a change in use.
It's just distracting from the full picture dialog required for such a large project.
From what I've seen so far this is the only parcel other than the Trop site itself downtown that the city owns and is large enough to house a stadium. I don't think anyone would like to see the city use imminent domain to create another one. If the stadium is placed out of the downtown the construction costs will escalate dramatically to account for the additional parking infrastructure that I stated earlier.
If I'm evaluating this proposal purely on a construction cost analysis, the current proposal is the cheapest option to replace the Trop. Basically if you are ever going to replace the Trop even 15 years from now this will still be the cheapest option. (see previous post for additional information)
I'm open to any other suggestions on placement, ETC to the contrary? If you want to respond please keep to this particular subject.
Thanks,

Hey Aaron, is the Get-Smart posting here today the real McCoy from times gone by, or just an agent provacateur working to give people who don't find any wisdom in a massive subsidy now a bad name? Maybe Donald Segretti is back from wherever political dirty tricksters go when they die?
Still watching the live stream of the City Council meeting....Council just went "around the horn" for Council members' comments.....Interesting.... Looks like near unanimous support for moving forward. Maybe 7-1?
Bennett had the best comments, in my mind. He said that ultimately, he trusts the people to decide, even though there will still be some who will think they don't have enough information, no matter what information comes out between now and then.
I agree. Let those who feel whatever information they lack ruins these deals vote "no." Let those of us who decide to trust the info we have by the time we vote say "yes."
Bennett doesn't fear the people voting.
That's how I see it. I welcome voting in November.
we have decided that it is none of your business and that you should concentrate on posting threads that don't put the entire blog to sleep .... YOU ARE A BORE

Aaron,
Will the vote be broadcast on the WSPF webcam???

As they should.
