Come all ye Democrats

The races for Pinellas County School Board are officially non-partisan. But at its next monthly meeting on Aug. 6, the St. Petersburg Democratic Club is hosting all candidates who are registered Democrats. Here's why:

"We have found that in recent years the party opposite (G.O.P.) have invested a great deal of time and money in getting their candidates elected in an attempt to inject their right-wing values into the school system," club president Jim Donelon said in a press release. "For too long we Democrats have allowed our candidates to play second fiddle to other races on the ballot, but the time has come to place greater emphasis on these very important positions. Every child, regardless of race, gender or economic status deserves the best quality education we can deliver and the candidates who are Democrats are committed to doing so."

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Piccadilly Cafeteria, 1900 34th St. Club membership is not required to attend.

Partisan politics does not belong in education. The School Board seats have been used to train party puppets and hacks for far too long…. Latvala, Bostock, Galucci to name a few… for God’s sake people; haven’t we had enough of this sh-t!

Yeah, we have had enough. Peluso is the next hack to be elected to the school board if we don't vote against him!

Note all of the above are REPUBLICANS. Don't forget O'Shea and her $20,000 donation from the Repubs.

Democrats are right to step up to the plate. If you think partisan politics are not injected into the school board, take a look at the Education Foundation. If that's not a bunch of party hacks injecting their "values" into the school system, I don't know what is!

So who do the Democrats support in running against Peluso? I don't know how he could lose a State Legislature race 2 years ago and all of a sudden decide he's a serious school board candidate.

Isbitts is the candidate to watch in that race. He's not "put up" by the Democrats or anyone else. Just a smart guy trying to make a difference. His investigative reporting skills will go a long way in straightening out the school board.

Peluso is a solid bet for more of the same and even worse. Did you see he is on the Voluntary Pre-K committee? What a disaster that program is! A lot of wasted tax payer money and nothing to show for it. It is not getting kids ready for Kindergarten that is for sure! Access to the program is a big bureaucratic mess. Nice job Peluso!

If the democrats are smart they will invite Isbitts to the meeting and support him against the "true believers" running in District 4. He may not be a democrat but against the others what choice do Democrats have?

Isn't this race supposed to be nonpartisan? I like Isbitts as a candidate, based on his Web site. But are we saying that they're all Republicans running? Or is Isbits an independent or not involved in politics?

We will truly miss the contributions of Nancy Bostock on the School Board.

Yes, we will. In fact, let's keep her there. She really doesn't belong on County Commission anyway.

Bostock will be an outstanding county commissioner!

Gee, we have a great chance this year, the GOP can't endorse in primary elections thanks to Jim Frishe and Jack Latvala, and Paul Bedinghaus, so the GOP school board candidates won't get any support from the party and our JJ dinner lets us help our guys to take back the school board! There is no such thing as non-part. races, you have to reg. something.
Lets get-em.

GO GATORS!!!!

Hay Gator-shut your trap when you don't know what you're talking about. None of the money from the Pinellas JJ Dinner will go to School Board candidates. Open your fat mouth only when you have the facts-which in your case is never.
