Hackworth statement on FISA
Bob Hackworth, the mayor of Dunedin and Democrat for Congressional District 10, released a statement today on the White House-backed Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which is expected to pass the Senate on Wednesday. It would give the executive branch enhanced spying powers and offer a legal shield to
telephone companies that cooperated with President Bush's warrantless surveillance
program.
The wiretapping plan passed the House of Representatives on June 20 by a 293-129 vote.
“Once again this administration has shown its disregard for the Constitution. By providing the telecom companies with immunity, the senate will be condoning the extra-constitutional actions of this government and be sending a message to the country and the world that big business comes before the freedoms and liberties of the American people. As usual, Rep. Bill Young sided with the administration in voting to restrict the freedoms that this country was founded on."

hackworth: you ought not be picking on Young publicly. You know the man is smarter than you and you should hope he doesn't publicly humiliate you, like he should. you have it coming.

Bill Young votes 98% of the time with President Bush, and you expect no one to be upset about it? Come on man. Why don't you start referring to him as "Bigger than Jesus" Bill Young?
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 12:18 AM
Actually 12:18 he votes with the party 89% of the time. That may seem like a big number but, as I pointed to the ever-quantitative Gene Smith, he is one of the most independent voting members of the Florida Delegation. Only three other members of Congress broke with their party more times. Of course, if you think the democrats are always right, I guess it's okay. Congressman Meek was number one on the party line list by the way.

... plus; he uses our tax dollars to get his kids jobs!
Whoooo Hooooo!
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 08:13 AM
plus he uses our tax dollars for US! We pay taxes he makes sure we get some back. I love Bill Young, he will win in a landslide and the "Hack" will look just like one!
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 08:25 AM
Bill Young is the past and Bob is the future. We can't concentrate on what he did yesterday, tomorrow is too important. We as a nation cannot afford to keep doing the same things and expect different results.
Posted by: SAV | July 09, 2008 at 08:43 AM
It's what he is doing today that counts SAV. His actions show louder than any candidates words that he will stand up for the community in the 10th district. He is a proven leader and continues to bring prosperity to this area.

He = CW Young by the way...
Posted by: AJS | July 09, 2008 at 09:00 AM
Ahhhhh - The two faces of Hackworth. He has screwed himself in both parties. Maybe next year the Independents might want him, but I doubt it.
Also, Young didn't use your tax dollars to buy his kids jobs. One is finishing his doctoral, the other has a bachelors degree and the third you pick on so much has gone to two tech schools, including St. Pete College.
So WOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Maybe when the oldest Young boy gets his doctoral he can treat your psychotic a## for free! Yeah, good idea.

Marianne Young: Stay off the blogs and out of politics. You made the biggest blunder that could have been done and then you were made a fool of by your BFF, Max Linn. Has he given you your $2300 back he gave you to give him to run against Young yet? Betcha he didn't, and betcha he won't. He loves scamming little old ladies. Take your wallet out, he has another great idea.
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 09:52 AM
Let me this straight, Young's third son is so unintelligent that he has to go to tech schools? Maybe buying this kid a job isn't a bad idea. That is probably the only way he can do anything.
I love people who think they are intelligent but really aren't. Please read before you post so maybe an iota of brains might leak out into a thought onto a page.
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 10:03 AM
a large percentage of the bay area population has gone to tech schools, theres no shame in it. you democrats would be mad that someone would be willing to work hard for something, you'd just assume they take a welfare check. i hope some blue collar tech school graduate knows you and beats your as$.
by the way, why is the times so up hackworth's as$? the guys a clown,

St. Pete Times,
What are the other candidates views on this?
Did you even bother to try to contact them?
He rides his bike, he has an opinion on one bill.
What will the wonder boy do next?
I want to know about him and his sisters property deal.
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 10:39 AM
I would like to know where 10:03 went to school, Harvard? Then again, as I read the grammar in your post, I am pretty sure that is not the case.

Maybe they went to the CW "Pork" Young School for Tax Dollar Diversion Tactics.
Did my tax dollars buy CW’s kids their college too?
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 01:07 PM
Anyone know the specifics on this property deal of his and his sisters?

Timmy: “Mr. Wizard?”
Mr. Wizard: “Yes Timmy!”
Timmy: “What’s a Hackworth?”
Mr. Wizard: “Well Timmy… that depends on how successful the hack is at screwing up the Dem’s chances in 10!”
Timmy: “What do you mean, Mr. Wizard?”
Mr. Wizard: “Well Timmy, we recognized that the politically-proclaimed “God of Pork” could possible lose this time, given the current environment and Congress approval rating… and we sure as hell didn’t want Linn, and we’re frightened to death of Simpson’s integrity… so, we convinced the hack to switch and jump-in to screw things up… with the promise of a future county commission seat.”
Timmy: “How do you know that, Mr. Wizard?”
Mr. Wizard: “Well Timmy, last year… The Meatball was my Timmy!”
Timmy: “Huh?”
Mr. Wizard: “Never mind, Timmy… now go play with the new squeegee and mop I bought you.”

10:03:
You just insulted 1/3 of Pinellas County, who by the way, attend or attended technical schools. Do you know what technical means, idiot?
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 03:30 PM
1:07 who is obviously Susan Smith of the Hillsborough County Executive Committee. All of the Young Boys paid for their own college, this isssue has already been discussed and all boys have college loans, not paid off. You are one ignorant Bit*h aren't you? You are a pathetic, sad and lonely woman. what are your plans when you leave this earth of explaining your hateful, ugly, vindictive self to a higher court? Just because? You are so sad. We all need to wrap our arms around you and give you a big old, republican group hug.
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 03:34 PM
I wouldn't hug that fat, ugly pig if God asked me to. There is only so much our God would make us do.
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 03:35 PM
Hackworth:
Are you as stupid as you act?
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 03:36 PM
Come on, susan isn't as fat and ugly as you describe. Maybe a little fat and a little ugly, but the really ugly lies inside her.
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 03:37 PM
Due respects to those who are due it on this blog… but the hypocrisy that exists inside your deranged and hateful Republicons is freaking astounding.
Only you degenerates can invoke the name of our God in a verbal and vitriolic assault on another human being. Only you distasteful minions can profess Christianity while blaspheming our Savior’s name by calling Obama “Messiah”. Only you miscreants can call yourselves Pro Life, while the majority of abortions-by-choice are performed on 25-35 year old professional women who are registered Republicans.
Your Party’s new motto should be “Pro Life; so long as it doesn’t interfere with the P&L”
Good luck in hell.
Posted by: Christian Democrat | July 09, 2008 at 04:33 PM
christian democrat, can you please provide a link to a source showing that your statement that the majority of abortions are performed on registered republicans?
i didn't realize that when you got an abortion they asked you what your political affiliation was.
you're an as$ clown
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 04:46 PM
Where you put your toy clown on the weekends... is none of our damn business.
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 04:55 PM
The majority of abortions-by-choice are performed on 25-35 year old professional women, who are apparently not only too busy to for motherhood, but also too busy to consider contraception and protection.
The majority of 25-35 year old professional women are registered Republicans who seek career oriented mid-to-high level management and creative positions.
2+2=4
Two wrongs don’t make a right, and two men can’t make a baby!
… does that help?
Good luck in hell.

Christian Democrat:
Do actually believe that your statement regarding 25 -35 year females who have abortions are republicans. Most women don't even put their real name when they have abortions and you are saying they put their party affiliation.
Gene Smith. You are a jerk.
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 06:18 PM
Susan Smith is already in hell. Here on earth. To live ones life so terribly miserable and hateful is punishment in itself. I feel so very sorry for her.
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 06:20 PM
Hackworth, what in the hell were you thinking?
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 07:02 PM
Hackworth: Humiliated yet? you should be. what a traitor.
Posted by: | July 09, 2008 at 09:44 PM
Hackworth needs to start looking at his government can get more involved in your life liberal social views before he starts getting too invested in "constitutional" attacks on any other candidate.
Is Dunedin going to become a Sanctuary City?
