Max Linn launches "Must Change Congress" fundraising site
Max Linn's new fundraising Web site, titled "Must Change Congress," ties his effort to Sen. Barack Obama's run for the presidency.
The site argues that people need to help folks like Max Linn get elected so that Republican congressmen (read: U.S. Rep. Bill Young) don't stand in Obama's way. The site features a picture of Linn with Obama, who is holding Linn's self-published book "2008: America's Turning Point," news about Obama, and quotes from him. One page of the site shows Republican congressmen and women and links to their opponents.
The site defines itself thus: "Must Change Congress.org and the Million Person March is a political online movement/march of people contributing financially to help support Democratic candidates that are running against destructive, road blocking key Republicans. These Republican representatives have pledged to stop Barack Obama’s policies of change and must be voted out."
Click on donate and read the fine print to learn that your money's going to Max Linn for Congress.

What took you so long, Stephanie? This site has been openly under development for weeks. It's going to take a lot of contributions to cover what he paid for this site, too. I heard $30,000 (or was it $50,000?). Now that's a high-class scam that only the likes of Max Linn would have the imagination for. Good thing he's got Bob Farmer schilling for him Wonder how long that will last? Actually, I think you should ask.

That is just sleazy.
He is trying to make people think they are donating to the real change congress organization.
http://change-congress.org/
Click my name to see their website if that isn't clickable.
If this sort of bait and switch donation solicitation is legal, maybe it shouldn't be.

why won't max do real campaign work, instead of looking for the "sleazy" way out?

DavidFL10: What are you talking about clicking your name doesn't do anything!
Posted by: | July 20, 2008 at 01:26 AM
Hmmm, it does when I click on it. You may have to paste the url into your browser. The site is:

I could be wrong but I believe that this kind of fundraising effort is unfortunately, legal.

Didn't he do something similar when he latched onto Rep. Bill Young and the veterans?

Stepanie:
I did as you suggested and went to Max Linns blog. This man is a compulsive liar and should be exposed as such. I read one claim where he said Bill Young voted for intervention in the Schiavo Case. That is a bold face lie. I was a student at USF during the Schiavo case and I was researching it. I was curious how the local politicians were going to vote. Mr. Young unfortunately did not vote at all, he was very ill and hospitalized for about 11 days, I may be incorrect on the amount of days, but I know for a fact he missed the vote.
Hence, Max Linn lied about Young again. What is this guys problem. He couldn't tell the truth if his life depended on it. If I hired him for financial advise, I would fire him today. the man can't be trusted. I hope you look into this lie, one I personally know to be untrue.

to Max Linn:
Your video is childish, outlandish, ridiculous and making fun of the dead is disgusting. What is wrong you, man? Are you some sort of sick freak? You should be a side show in a circus. If you are looking for support, that video just ruined any chances you ever had of being taken serious. And whoever you hired to produce that piece of childish garbage should be embarrassed ,and fired.

Max:
Everything you touch turns into a disaster. That video was so infantile. Do you expect Adults to accept or find humor in your childish tactics? Do you think someone that would make that stupid video would be expected to be taken seriously as a representative of the people?

$3.5 milliion for the race for Govenor, plus $400,000 and counting for this race...
Mr. Linn, financial genius and "financial planner for the people" has spent nearly $4 MILLION so that this community can have a close look at a really stupid crook.
Can we run this guy out of town somehow? That's what would have happened just a few decades back.
By the way, does this make any of his clients a little worried that perhaps he was not looking out for their best interests? But I digress...

Is there such a thing as slime fatigue?
No wonder people give up on democracy, when you see people like this trying to manipulate it. Lucky for us all he is apparently very bad at being a political criminal.
Not so for the seniors from whom he extracted millions, I suppose.

there is no way his site cost $30,000 I know a 15 year old kid who could do it for him for $100.

DO IT NOW AND STOP THE MADNESS!!!!!!!

You all act so surprised. This is Max Linn the way he has always been for more than 20 years. Nothing new. It's a shame, really, because he has tremendous energy and creativity that could be used for some good. He's quite gracious and personable too. Sadly, the same can be said for most serial killers. When The Times finally gets off their lazy duffs and writes the story, this sorry chapter in Pinellas political history will draw to an abrupt end.

drman321:
That's the problem. he probably hired the kid to the video for $150.00 instead of doing it in a way with class and dignitiy. I can't get over it. I keep having to tell myself he is a grown man and rumor is he is having a child. God Bless this poor child.

hurry Max. You need money. Try marianne Young again. She's old enough to have forgot she gave it to you once.

Hey, look what I found! Another work of love by our great local politian, about whom the SP Times has only great things to say.

We are all so lucky to have such a selfless philanthropist in our midst.
Thanks St. Pete Times.

12:17: Maybe I missed something, but where does this website mention Max Linn or the St Pete Times? Please direct us.

$1.8 million for his Governor's campaign.
$400,000 so far for his Congressional campaign.
Of which, $30,000 for the website MustChangeCongress.com.
You'll find his picture next to "A fool and his money are easily parted" in the dictionary.

More lies Max. One of your "gifts" is to send kids to see their wounded fathers at Walter Reed. The United States Military does that, its part of the plan. If you think we believe as a whole that the military doesn't pay for kids to come to their fathers side, you are more of an idiot than I thought. Nice website though. Tell the truth about the troops, better yet, leave them out of your scams. Stick with your "photo op" with Obama. I can't wait until he finds out about you using him for personal gain.

Yeah, where does "Thanks St. Pete Times" fit into Maxis messes? Scenario at the Times coffee urns in the morning--- "How is Max going to entertain us today?"
Posted by: | July 21, 2008 at 10:39 AM
The St. PEte Times has only great things to say about Max Linn? What a laugh. I must not be reading the same St. Pete Times.
