Vet has medals, must prove election metal

Fred Taylor got the first of three Purple Hearts after being wounded in Vietnam near an area that later became known for the siege on Hamburger Hill. That and other stories make up a biography that Democrats like in Taylor's campaign to unseat state Sen. Mike Fasano, R-New Port Richey.

But Taylor has yet to turn the story into campaign cash in his upstart bid against Fasano.
