Putnam claims green credentials; tax payers foot the bill
BARTOW — Republican U.S. Rep. Adam Putnam recently sent out a mailer that lists his efforts to lower gas prices and use environmentally friendly, domestic sources of energy. But environmental groups say he's not all that green. What's more, taxpayers paid for the mailer.
*

This taxpayer paid mailer is wrought with lies. It claims that Putnam is "working hard" for alternative energy solutions.
Putnam has voted "no" each of the following:
Tax incentives for energy production and conservation - Jun, 2008
Defining energy emergency on federal gas prices - Jun, 2008
Tax incentives for renewable energy - Feb, 2008
Investing in homegrown biofuel - Aug, 2007
Increasing Amtrak funding - Jun, 2006
Raising fuel efficiencies standards for autos - Aug, 2001
Incentives for alternative fuels - Aug, 2001
He has voted "yes" on each of the following:
The Bush Administration National Energy Policy - Jun, 2004
Implementing Bush-Cheney National Energy Policy - Nov, 2003
Putnam works against his the interest of the people he was elected to represent.
It is time for a change. It is time to elect Doug Tudor!

Putnam is a fraud. It's time to send Howdy Doody back to Bartow....
Did anyone see this youtube video about his voting record?

Why isn’t he indited for misusung taxpayer funds?

As it has been so beautifully pointed out - Adam has voted AGAINST doing anything about our dependence on foreign sources of energy/oil. He has been part of the problem. And now he wants us to believe that he and his cronies are the ones to trust to solve this? Why - because their VP choice happens to live in Alaska?
Adam knows he's in trouble. He knows Doug is a candidate that can remove him from power. He was on NPR and all over the press with his statements that it is an "anti-incumbent" feeling out there. And he KNOWS why.
Support Doug Tudor for Congressional District 12!

Vote Doug Tudor to replace Adam Putzman the Schmucksman!

Gus Bilirakis has sent out two similar mailers at taxpayers' expense. Let's hope someone does something about it. The best thing we can do is elect better representatives. Doug Tudor will be a much better Congressman for the citizens in FL-12 than Putnam, and Bill Mitchell should be elected to replace Gus Bilirakis.

Why isn’t the Times reporting this abuse and misuse of tax dollars to the public, and pushing for accountability in government?
Instead we have to read about the Hogan divorce. What ever happen to integrity in journalism?

Susan S - have fun trying to replace Putnam and Bilirakis with the losers that are running against them.
The mailers have not broken any laws and are standard practice with our elected officials. Just because someone is up for re-election doesn't make it other than what it is, a mailer. Incumbancy has advantages, jealous?

9.28 is your typical Ill-informed Delusional Indignant Opposition Troll… aka: Idiot!
Posted by: | September 05, 2008 at 09:40 AM
“Incumbency has advantages, jealous?”
Yes I am… I wish I could be a do-nothing corrupt “incumbent”” and watch hard working American lose their jobs and homes while I use their tax dollars to pimp my re-election!
… or an overpaid staffer who blogs for his/her corrupt incumbent boss all day.

Adam is suddenly concerned with energy issues other than what the Grand Oil Party has made him kowtow? Why now, Congressman? We know why - you have an electable opponent this time in veteran, Doug Tudor. He's everything you're not, Congressman - a military man, a working man, a middle-class representative of working families with political science and legal degrees under his belt, not to disrepect Putnam's training in food services or whatever his degree is in. Go ahead and try to distance yourself from your cronies of the past eight years, aka Bush, Cheney, Delay, Abramoff, Ney, Craig et al. It won't work - we're not that dumb. Maybe you can challenge Martinez in 2010. Meanwhile, enjoy Bartow.

Why isn’t the Times reporting that the Pinellas SOE is sending vote-by-mail out WAY too early, and has been directed… ooops, I mean decided to remove the Incumbent designation from those seeking re-election?

Putnam is finally correct about something -- Republicans are going to lose big this November. Doug Tudor has my vote, because he's earned it.

9.28 - you are proud of Putnam's record? Wow.... Please explain what he has done to benefit all of the people he represents.

9:40 & 9:43 - Why don't you dems get off your wobbly high horse and try to use an actual conversation instead of a constant barage of name calling?
Talk about idiots, look in the mirror.

Name one piece of legislation that Putnam has written that benefited all of the people he represents...

Did anyone see all of "The Real Adam Putnam" videos that were put on youtube?
Putnam needs to be booted out of office!
here is a link to one of the videos about his voting record on big oil!

Translation of the 11:22 post...
"Stop telling the truth, it's scares the hell out of us!"
Love,
Republicans

If it’s true that he recently put it out, then Putnam and his office broke the law. A blackout period for all franked mail – which is the taxpayer funded mail members of Congress send to their constituents – began on August 6th. If this mailer was dropped in the mail after August 6th, then Putnam has violated federal law.

Do you know why no one can name one piece of legislation that Putnam has written? There aren't any with the exception of the "National Watermelon Month" declaration he wrote earlier this year.
He is a do nothing, Howdy Doody looking nimrod.
The Republicans that are on this thread will sit here and tell you all the virtues of why Putnam is great by trying to use bumper sticker slogans.
However, they can't name one piece of legislation he has authored that actually made a positive impact for all of the people in the 12th District of Florida.
Further, they can not defend his big oil record or his voting for every free trade agreement. As a recovering republican, who is now a registered independent - I plan on voting for Doug Tudor.
Teamtudor.org is Doug's website. Check him out. He is a great candidate for the working class people of the 12th district!
And thanks to the others who posted the youtube videos. I watched them all and they are very true. I loved the Howdy Doody one and the "I'm with stupid"....

These are just more of the same propaganda videos. Election day will tell the real story.

Campaign Manager: I received mine in the mail on Aug. 9th....
Is there a way to file a request to have them prove when it was physically mailed out?

Trying to communicate with you people is a waste of time.

I read up on Putnam's record at opensecrets.org and ontheissues.org and compared them to all of "The Real Adam Putnam Videos" and everything in the videos are true.
So, what exactly makes them propaganda? What specifically is untrue in the videos?
Not one thing. Putnam is un-American and he needs to be kicked out of office!

12:03:
How is it propaganda if it is all true? Please provide details that refute his voting record, personal wealth and campaign contributions.
What specifically is not true in the videos, which can be seen at:
