Sheriff's candidate doesn't want endorsement
Randall Jones, the Democratic nominee for Pinellas County Sheriff, doesn't want the endorsement of his Pinellas Fraternal Order pf Police Lodge 43.
Not only does he not want it; Jones has now issued a statement saying he's upset that his name is even being considered on the literature that the FOP has circulated among its membership.
He thinks it makes it look like he's going back on his word that he would not seek or accept the nomiation.
The spat goes back to the primary race, where FOP Lodge 43 endorsed John Pikramenos for the Democratic primary.
Jones said that he was never interviewed before that endorsement and he thinks the only reason that Pikramenos was selected is that he and his campaign staff are tight with the board of the lodge.
Jones went on to win the primary with about 60 percent of the vote.
Speaking of the propspect that the lodge might still endorse him, Jones said: "They're not properly representing the members of the FOP therefore this would not be a true reflection of what I stand for or my candidacy."
Dan Karron, president of the lodge, said Jones never came to ask for the group's endorsement. "He never asked for it. He doesn’t recognize the FOP. Why he said that, I don’t know. I’m not going to go beg people to talk to us."

Most people who got the establishment's blessing lost the Primary.... maybe kissing the rings of the self-proclaimed kings isn't such a good idea anymore.
If the status quo supports you; YOU are the status quo... and the status quo sucks!
easy math

I don't want to be endorsed-like they would HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Jones needs to be careful. The Republicans in Pinellas would sell their child to keep the boondoggles flowing. They just might set him up to be "Pound"ed!

Rappin' Randall is a disgrace. Candidates like him make me think there should be some kind of basic civil service exam to pass so you can get your name on the ballot and not waste our money and time with idiots on the ballot.
Oh, I guess that makes me a racist, right Randall?

Enough with the RACIST nickname!
How many times do I have to tell you it's offensive!
Thats what makes you a racist not your idea about a civil service exam which isn't a bad idea.
Calling someone Rapping just because they are black IS racist.
And FYI "true blue" I am the original white boy and since you can't read my name is EVERETT not Randall.

Well it looks like all the above comments came from he same person who did not even leave there name. Is someone one sided? Well I am a Deputy with Pinellas County and I my self thought it was un fair how they have been doing things.

"Randall Jones is an idiot. The Sheriff will clean his clock" You said the same thing when he was running against Pikramenos.
"Jones has a dream, but he has no qualifications." He worked of as a deputy for 16 years.
"Bright, a sergeant that was fired for stealing overtime money" Wrong guy that was Sgt Stinball
"Rappin' Randall is a disgrace" People the voters spoke. Period
"civil service exam" Once again PEOPLE we live in America that's what is great anyone can run. No Tests!
BTW: I know I was only talking to one person who posted all of the posts above.

I went to the FOP web site and went to (Your Reps) at the right top is PINELLS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE then under that the first name is Corporal Frank Felicetta. I saw this and fall out of my seat. My husband worked at a gas stations and this guy ordered him to open up the bathroom door and said he was working undercover with a female who was latter told to be his wife. If fact he was off duty and just wanted to use a restroom. scary..... What happened to the PBA?

Jingle Jones gets into sing song with his campaign stump speech all the time. Sorry if you have missed it, Everett. You get to learn a lot about wigs on a pig and bricks on a stick.
Should we substitute "Rappin' Randall" with Alliterative African-American?

I hope you guys are not cops because you do not have thing right here. I have seen Mr. Jones at an event and it was "A brick on a tooth pick" I like his style it will be a good thing for Pinellas County.

Pikramenos is out looking for a job. Hope it is outside of a decent county like pinellas. Maybe John should go to Chicago were he would fit in better.

Being from the Chicago area He would not be a good fit5.
He has more of a New York attitude.. Bad!

You can call any security company and get a job. good luck John

If Randall worked as a deputy for 18 years why did he never advance?

Everett - What the are you talking about? Make some sense. Or is that too much to ask of the Rice family??

Wrong Everett.

I have no opinion yet on any of the candidates mentioned above since all I know about them is what I see in the paper sporadically. However, what scares me to death is the possibility that all of these comments were posted by law enforcement officials. With maybe one or two exceptions, this is the most hateful, ignorant, sorry group of people I've ever seen collected in one place. Wow. I pray I never have occasion to run into someone like this while he or she is wearing a uniform.

I'm not law enforcement.

First off... Two Small Balls.. my last name is not Rice. It's Paul. I have have no need to hide behind a fake name like you.
Feel free to look me up. I will be the Democratic Committeman for 190 as of the December DEC meeting.
Just because someone else calls you out for being Racist don't assume it's me. Thankfully St.Pete has other progresive people who are not locked into the mindset of the bigotted past beside just me.
Perhaps if you weren't so small minded you could get a girlfriend and then you could change your screen name.

Randall is a good man, a fine officer, and I admire him for telling them to shove their endorsement.
Maybe there is hope for the law enforcement around here. Would be nice to call an officer for help, instead of having them out hunting, to bust your balls.
