That'll buy a lot of gas

New Pinellas County Administrator Bob LaSala will be in town Tuesday to ink a contract, which Bay Buzz reviewed today. He'll be paid $225,000 a year. When Steve Spratt resigned a year ago, he was getting $223,476. And LaSala will be getting a car allowance of $750 a month. That's $9,000 a year. Spratt got $500 a month. Guess that's inflation.

Bob LaSala has more administrative experience than Sarah Palin. But can he field dress a cariboo?

Oh, what a relief! I guess this means that all of the talk about a budget crisis was just false hype. Wow, $9,000 per year car allowance. Let's see, over 5 years that would be about $55,000 (don't forget to account for continuing inflation - read the fine print on all contracts.) And wasn't it just a few months ago that they had a fleet of cars that they didn't need or use? What if ... ah, nevermind. That would just be silly to think about.

6:21 Unless you want to discuss a mountain range of eastern British Columbia, what you meant to say was caribou. If this is so, then what you meant to say was that Sarah Palin is not only smart, but also very hot. But that's OK, we all make mistakes. I thought LaSala was a Buick. And please seek help with your issues of dressing artic deers.

This blurb is a bit hypocritical as the Times only has a problem with some administrator's perks. Is this an early sign of how the Times will pursue LaSala relentlessly until he is fired? Did the commissioners not hire your administrator of choice?

The person persons who signed that contract need to be jailed. Buy the man a used yugo and tell him to have a good time. At 225 thou a year he doesn't need any kind of allowance. Wonder how many cars we sent to auction lately? I hear there is a lady from Alaska who wouldn't put up with that crap. Would bet she would take the job for a % of what she saved. Seems like it has been county admins who have caused most of the problems by doing nothing or the wrong thing forever. What makes this turkey worth that kind of contract. What is he a pro athlete or entertainer? Must be an entertainer.Magician no doubt he makes 235,000 disappear right before our very eyes every year. Talk about slight of hand.

Clean out the corrupt Republicans in the Courthouse.Vote Democrat all the way down the line.

Cut their salaries. Period. They are too inflated, and they aren't listening to the people.

Love how government cries the blues about the budget, cuts people's jobs, charges us more to use services and then "finds" money to pay corporations to move here and to pay some red-tape king's generous salary and perks. Vote EVERY incumbent out and start anew with officials who get it!
