No County mayor vote in Hillsborough

TAMPA — A proposal to create an elected Hillsborough County mayor appears to be kaput for 2008.

The Florida Supreme Court has declined to stay two lower court decisions stripping the proposal from the November ballot, effectively killing the nearly 3-year-old effort. Read more here.

Comments

The county mayor proposal was split into two measures on the ballot: one for the county mayor position and another providing a veto for the county mayor. I think the veto measure is still on the ballot. Vote yes on that and then work once again to get the mayor proposal on the ballot.
