Gallucci's thoughts on political blogs

Outgoing Pinellas School Board member Jane Gallucci blasted political blogs, specifically the St. Petersburg Times' Bay Buzz, during a discussion on a student anti-bullying policy at today's School Board meeting.

"The same thing that's happening on these blogs like Bay Buzz is exactly what you're talking about ... Some of the atrocious things that have been written on that blog during this campaign cycle about some of the candidates (are) untrue and journalistically are things that would not be put in the hard copy of the St. Petersburg Times, but are being allowed, and we need to say, 'Stop!' "

Gallucci clarified after the meeting that she was referring to the part of the blog posts where readers are allowed to post comments. She said there were comments on blog posts that were critical of her makeup and the way she dresses, and that alleged she had lied on her financial disclosure form.

Gallucci, who lost her bid for Pinellas County Commission in the Aug. 26 primary, suggested that the public cease patronizing advertisers who buy space on blogs like Bay Buzz because they "breed all kinds of ugliness in this community and give a venue for people who are not willing to show their faces."

She's over, one RINO down and another will go down in 2010.

She was in the back of the room last night at the Republican party meeting and she looked bad. She and Susan Latvala got caught in the cookie jar when some of our members heard them on the radio bad mouthing Neil.

Susan can you say PRIMARY in Two years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let the games begin!!!

... and who wouldn't bad mouth Neil... dude's a dope!...

"Duuuuuh, Gee Tennessee!"

TRUE BLUE

Someone should remind Jane that there is something in the Constitution that protects FREE SPEECH. Glad she's gone from the School Board - she sets a BAD EXAMPLE.

Someone should remind Jim that there is something in the Constitution that protects FREE WILLY. Glad he changed his underbritches - he sets a BAD ODOR.

Trevor

Brickfield is a dope. But so is Latvala, Galucci, Bostock, et al…

… just goes to show you that voters are clueless, lazy, and one big group of malleable monkeysticks!

4:43 Point taken!

Pres. elect Obama

Good night comrad

Still free till the 20TH of Jan

Bill

Jane Gallucci come on the Times have to sell papers. Look at the Trib. Thanks for helping them!

Trevor I believe you are the dope.

Jane is actually correct. Yes, we have free speech. But, with free speech we need to practice responsibility. And, when libelous accusations are made on Blogs there needs to some accoutability.

sore loser!

The politicians won't hold themselves accountable, the voters won't hold them accountable either... what makes you think someone will hold them accountable on a freaking blog?

And yes; Neil is a dope.

The elections are over and the executives at the St. Petersburg Times need to sit back and absorb all the anger, slander and animosities that were used during this campaign time. There has to be one executive that has a wife or children, but more important, a soul. The things that have been said that caused emotional wounds that will never heal really weren't worth it, were they? God made us all equal, no one better and allowing innocent people to be humiliated in your columns was so unkind and inhuman. Was it worth it? Was it necessary? Maybe the Times blogs will change their style, start anew, be kinder and gentler. Maybe not.

tic.tic.tic.tic...

if there is any one who knows ugliness it would be her. glad the ugly is gone from the school board. too bad some of it is headed to the county commission.

Happy REC Member: Careful now!

Currently Beverley Billiris is one of the people running against Latvala. Let's not forget that she backed Democrat Flowers over Republican Bostock in the County Commission election this cycle.

8:26 ugly is as ugly does

toc?toc?toc?toc?

8:24 It has to start somewhere.

BTW, have you ever met Neil?

Oh, it absolutley will start somewhere.

And yes I have met Neil, and yes; he's a dope.

tic.tic.tic.tic...

I think Neil is hot!

In the know...

School drop out record in Pinellas County Schools under Jane Gallucci’s leadership: 53%! Ugly!

Achievement gaps between black and Latino students vs white students: 33%. Ugly!

Seeing Jane Gallucci go down in flames in the Republican primary? Beautiful!

toc?toc?toc?toc????
