Bill Foster wins this fundraising period
ST. PETERSBURG -- Mayoral hopeful Bill Foster collected $44,801 during April through June, more than any other candidate.
But he finished third place overall in total fundraising, with $63,686.
Deveron Gibbons and Scott Wagman are neck and neck. Gibbons collected $156,655 overall, most of it from outside donors. Wagman has $149,535 overall, including a $60,000 loan.
Kathleen Ford raised $15,459 this period. Larry Williams raised $21,735.
Some other last minute reports that came in:
District 5 candidate Angela Rouson raised $10,300. She spent $2,079. She collected $500 from developer Tony Amico, $100 from City Council member Jamie Bennett and $500 from her husband, state Rep. Darryl Rouson, D-St. Petersburg. His law firm, Rouson & Associates, also gave her $500. Most of her money went toward campaign consultant Brian Lowack, who earned $1,200.
District 6 incumbent Karl Nurse earned $15,716 and spent $11,965. He loaned his campaign $1,000. He collected $100 from City Council member Jamie Bennett, $50 from Rep. Rouson, $50 from lawyer Don Mastry and $100 from County Commissioner Ken Welch.

Interesting Concept Foster has. Raising funds from actual constituants and not trying to buy the campaign.

"Deveron Gibbons and Scott Wagman are neck in neck. Gibbons collected $156,655 overall, most of it from outside donors. Wagman has $149,535 overall."
First of all, it's "neck and neck."
Second, $7,000 is more than just pocket change (especially when you consider what the others are raising.")

Wagman's fundraising includes a personal $60,000 loan. Gibbons is way ahead. Wagman is closer to Foster than Deveron.
Since the poll showed Wagman has not gotten much bang for his buck, he may slow down on his personal funding.

"lunatic christian american taliban."
Really Zen... Really? Would that be comparable to the lunatic homo american taliban? You disappoint Zen… you really disappoint. Here I though for a flash that you might just have some intellect. Just another tunnel-vision nutjob hater in the trail mix of life, huh.
It is sad to see that Biggy diss’d a sista for a white tool. I always knew the Randy Jackson lookalike was a UT. So tell me, Biggy… when’s the brotha starting the olive peal?

If fundraising is any indication of community based voter support (emphasis on COMMUNITY), some of these candidates should rethink their bid for mayor. There are too many candidates in this race wasting the voters time.

Zen,
Who Owns Him? You will be extremely disappointed to see that Foster isn't Owned by anyone! (No Taliban, Christian or otherwise)
You will see on Monday when Eva posts the Reports that Foster is SUPPORTED by voters, business owners & first responders who live and work right here in St. Petersburg.
I know that is not what the other candidates have done but it seem to be working for Foster.

I have always wondered who Pelican Pete was supporting, now that I see his true affection for Foster, the same guy that slimy PS is for, I am dismissing him as I do LilpeteS.
Foster did well this quarter, and he wouldn't make a horrible mayor, but he wouldn't be the best either. and his crazy religious side is a little scary, I am really done with these Republican Religious types who find themselves in some sort of trouble whether it is traveling to Argentina or visiting a local bathroom.

So what, why is it important that we know who raised what amounts of money. This stupidity stands in surrogacy for the absence of good hard-nosed, research-based journalism. It is supposed to emulate voter support which is bull.....Does who one gets his/her money from make a difference or is it just another way of inserting your bias. Hey Cristina, two candidates garnered $1,000.00 dollars each in a given reporting period. Candidate A received two 500 dollar checks while candidate B received 1000 one dollar checks. Who has the most support dummy?
Come on Silva, try getting out and doing some real work. Next time around someone else will be in the lead; does this mean the voters have changed their minds? Or does it mean someone else hit the money vane?
Honestly Cristina, you really need to get it together.

Rouson only raised $10,000! She should pay Peter S. off, and call it a day. Kornell is killing her! He has a ground game, and more then double her money. I would say the turkey is cooked.

Jaime gave to Rousan. Wow.

Gibbons necessity to raise cash outside St. Pete is proof that he isn't even liked by local Republicans. He is controlled by special interests in Tallahassee.

Little Kathleen Ford barley raised a dime.

The Kornell campaign is getting a little shrill.
