Deveron Gibbons releases summary of four-point 'Gibbons plan'
ST. PETERSBURG -- You might have seen the topics highlighted in Deveron Gibbons' television spot: public safety, no new taxes, creating jobs, open government.
Today, the St. Petersburg mayoral candidate's campaign is starting to release some of the details behind each plank. You can read a summary here. The campaign says it will release more detailed information on each point, starting with public safety on Monday, in the coming weeks.
Here's the news release announcing the Gibbons plan.
UPDATE: Eric Jotkoff, communications director for the Florida Democratic Party, offers his thoughts on Gibbons' plan: "Might be better to call it slick propaganda, from the same Republican lobbyists who are running and bankrolling Gibbon's campaign, as it seems generous to call the five pages of cliché platitudes a plan."

Are you kidding, Deveron? You've been waiting all of your life to run and this is what you put out? A not-so white paper? You know if you make the font a little bigger and re-work those margins it will seem even more important.

Hay Deveron, I saw you and Charlie Crist in an add together in one of you sdvertisments. Are you one of Charlie's male lovers in the new movie OUTRAGE?

I’m not opposed to the idea of an extended issue roll out, as a means to gin up some press hits, but yeah – this is a little weak. He should have included some sort of specifics or new programs (or even reference an existing program he thinks is working).

I'm always suspicious of any claim to "NEVER" raise tax's. Yes we can read your lips Gibbons.
Open Government? Really? Have you not heard of the Sunshine law? Why not campaign for blue sky's and yellow sun's?
Yes, yes, I know Baker has done some shady sneaky stuff to "get around" the Sunshine law but really I would expect any candidate to embrace open government.
I've never heard one Pol yet say "I'll be a sneaky SOB who will try to subvert the intent of the Sunshine Law"

Are you kidding me! The Times is actually censoring for Mel and the boys?
So, that’s where you got the loan to cover payroll… very interesting.

Looks good to me for a summary and if Peter hates it then they are doing something right!

I do hate it. Simpleton public policy. There's nothing -- nothing -- in that plan that shows any sense of bold leadership. Karl Nurse has proposed more in his short time on Council than Deveron proposes for his term as Mayor.

“I will continue the process of streamlining city government begun by Mayor Rick Baker…”
Translation: SSDD (Same Sh-t; Different Dupe)
And when did Nurse hire Lil' Pete?... there goes my vote for Karl.

Interesting that for a non-partisan race, Aaron allows a spokesman for the Democratic Party to make partisan cracks. If there's not something nasty to say about Deveron, it's hardly worth putting on the blog, eh?

Non-partisan - I thought it was Greer and Crist who were running Gibbons campaign?
Since serving on Mitt Romney's Steering Committee, Deveron has done nothing but raise money from GOP lobbyists.

Who's the spokesman for the Democratic Party on here?

Just saying Deveron,,you can't buy respect BabyDaddy.

It looks like Deveron just put out the "Cliff's Notes" version of the Foster Formula which has been online since March.
Too Bad that it took the St. Petersburg Times Poling Data to convince Gibbons that Public Safety is the NUMBER ONE issue in this campaign (in Deveron's TV spot he lists Public safety as the last of his four planks)
Foster and the PBA have known it was the number one issue for the citizens from the begining.

Well...i think it's solid. Summarizes his points and promises to expand on them over time. Most people don't want to read anything over one page on a website so why publish a book on your plan ? Give me the overview and fill it in with specifics...makes sense to me. I like it...liking Deveron more and more.

Amateurish, stale, thin, weak, tired, borrowed… and any number of other metaphors that depict lame. It makes me feel like I do at the later part of a date… when I find out she’s not really blonde!

What about Dev's hidden criminal records. We have a right to know!
GIBBONS,DEVERON MONTEZ M B 01/31/1973 ST PETERSBURG
What gives? Why isn't SPT's asking the question?
Sample:
"Dev, after doing a search on you in the Pinellas Public Records, I found a criminal file with the name:
GIBBONS,DEVERON MONTEZ M B 01/31/1973 ST PETERSBURG
Is that you?
Why are your criminal files hidden?
What do you have to hide?
What crimes have you committed?"
Cheers -
