Inside the mind of John Warren
Creative Loafing's Wayne Garcia on mayoral hopeful John Warren: I’m fascinated by John Warren, a longshot and last-minute candidate in the St. Petersburg mayoral race. He has a long history in the city as a preservationist, history advocate, real estate investor and — currently — the owner of Savannah’s Cafe on Central Avenue. What is important is his message about learning from the past and looking at the city’s problems (especially those downtown) as all linked. He would restart the city’s visioning process to work on solutions in the aggregate.

Worth three million, but can't cough up $1600? Wow.
Wouldn't it be nice if we could limit the endless forums to those people who ante up the entrance fee? Why should I listen to a candidate with no chance at all, unless he has paid the fee?

We could reduce the percentage of the homeless who are the career panhandlers simply by closing Graham-Rogall. The hundred people living there now would be on the streets as soon as their housing vouchers ran out. The problem is keeping them from becoming professional panhandlers.....
Yeah, we should kick them out from under the single redeeming architectural feature they care about, which is the roof. Tearing down Graham Rogall is some loser's idea of progress. We should be thinking of refurbishing the buildings with some of the stimulus money we are allegedly to receive.

Another public user, most of these candidates could not get to first base in NJ, believe me.
