Dingfelder stepping out in south Hillsborough
South Hillsborough County environmental activist Mariella Smith is co-hosting a meet and greet with county commission candidate John Dingfelder on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Other hosts are Annette and Terry DeLisle and Sharon and Dean Henry. "What I like about John is that he's a politician who listens to the citizens, who listens to his constituents and he does his homework," Smith said. "He looks into issues before he makes a decision and makes a deicsion based on what's best for the community regardless of special interests or politics."
Dingfelder, a Democrat, has represented south Tampa on the City Council for eight years. He's running for the District 1 commission seat now held by Rose Ferlita, who's expected to run for mayor. Dingelder said he's already been going door-to-door in south Hillsborough.
"I know a lot of people in south Tampa, but i don't know a lot of people in Ruskin, Gibsonton and Apollo Beach and we're going to work hard to change that," Dingelder said.
So far, Dingfelder is the only Democrat who's filed to appear on the ballot for the District 1 seat in 2010. Two Republicans have filed: Anne Madden and Trey Rustmann. Former Republican Florida legislator Sandy Murman has said she may seek the post, too.

Maybe Murman will switch parties again. She seems to do that without batting an eyelash when it suits her political ambitions. Remember, she became a DEM in order to run for House District 56 then when she beat the Republican in the general election, she switched back to being a Republican.
How many times will a politician like Murman fool voters into thinking that she is only there to serve them? Oh, I forgot; there’s a fool born every day in Tampa Bay.

Dingfelder!... why; I hardly knew her.

I'd like to see Dinglefelder step out. As far as, say, Cleveland. And stay there.

Oh, sorry, got his name wrong. I mean to type Dingleberry.

We are now officially sick to our stomachs. Ms. Smith is seriously misguided even on a good day, so this isn't a surprise.
Dingfelder is the epitome of a politician who submits to the most votes and/or money. He does NOT care about his constituents, just maintaining a job apt for his ego.

I met Trey Rustmann at Rotary the other day and was very impressed with him. He seems like the common-sense, fresh voice, businessman we need in elected office. Nothing against Dingfelder, but we don't need more career politicos to solve the problems the career politicos created.

Dingfelder is history, Rustman hasn't done anything. Madden has been a community activist for a long time and she has accomplishments to prove it. Madden is the best for Hillsborough County.
