What the media are saying about Bill Foster's mayoral win

Tampa Tribune: The stress of the campaign is over, and now Bill Foster is ready to begin planning for his transition to city hall as mayor.

ABC Action News: Newly elected St. Petersburg mayor Bill Foster may shake things up when he takes office in January. He is hoping police there will give chase to criminals as long as it can be done safely. Right now the St. Petersburg police department only gives chase to "violent felony offenders."

MyFox Tampa Bay: St. Petersburg mayor-elect Bill Foster has to close down his law practice, and current mayor Rick Baker has to find a job. "I do intend to apply for the president's job at St. Pete College" Baker says, "That application process- I'm going to have to get working on" on that.

Creative Loafing: Bill Foster awakens this morning to his lifelong dream: He is now the mayor of St. Petersburg.

Tampa Bay Business Journal: He outlined his position on leading business issues for the Tampa Bay Business Journal. He said he would be “ a champion for the public/private investment into clean energy systems and policies” and “supports the vision and regional approach” for light rail and other mass transit options in Tampa Bay Regional Transportation Authority’s plan.

Near-sighted d-baggery

Is it true that St. Petersburg was once home to the 6th largest website in the world--Wikipedia?

Wikipedia came to Mayor Baker asking for help, but didnt receive any because he was more focused on building speculative empty condos and getting the Grand Prix.

So Wikipedia left downtown St. Pete. They moved to California and hired 60 people. Entire cities are built on internet juggernauts (Seattle. Palo Alto.)

But we love our faux economic development down here. We subsidize fake real estate growth instead.

Old people come on down. Young people, tech-savvy entrepreneurs, and dynamic businesses need not apply.

It's STILL the economy, stupid!

Ummmmm... that's actually pretty straight up... well done 11:50!

Doesn't look like the other St. Petersblog is too happy with Bill Foster's win.

pass this around!

hmmm interesting. Baker sent a lot of our money in a very slick way over TO St. Pete College. This was planned a very long time ago. Ford's economic budget plan and her transportation plan were released also to the media, and no one reported on it. WE did hear about Foster's and it continues right here. Foster is the puppet, and it's the st pete times that "ran" this race,
along with all the other merged media. Especially Bay News 9, Wfla, and local ABC and NBC too. Many reporters apoligized for their shameful acts, and said they were "forced".

Oh I have so much to say and no one will ask. Are they really reporting on the race? And if Ford had Castor, Justice, Kreisman, Rousson, Heller, Joyner, Welch, Harris, Nurse, Long, Lerner, Bennett, WAG-MAN,and Iorio too,
(who refused to introduce her as planned at the Moxy Women event!)WE WOULD HAVE WON! THEY....are not democrats! Get it?

Give me a break

to pass this around - Do you really think that many people care who Castor, Justice, Kreisman, Rousson, Heller, Joyner, Welch, Harris, Nurse, Long, Lerner, Bennett, WAG-MAN,and Iorio were supporting? If we were to use your warped theory, WAG-MAN would now be our Mayor, since he had the support of more elected officials than any other candidate (AND more money). Give me a break!

Once Foster started talking about Ford's temperment, his numbers went up, and her's down.

Had Foster been running against anyone other than Ford, he might not have won.

Stop blaming her loss on all the elected's in the county. Maybe it's time she looked in the mirror.

And by the way, if you hadn't noticed, all those you name have won elections, meaning they had to have support from DEMOCRATS.

Ford has now lost twice for Mayor after having served on council. Can't blame it all on the electeds.

P.C.

Bill Foster has closed his law practice,

Rick Baker is looking for a job?

Why doesn't he re open his practice?

He is not an educator, let him earn a living for a change.

Reagan

Congratulations to Mayor Foster!
