Next makeover may be extreme, too

Shows like ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition play like the end of a fairy tale. But sometimes it's the beginning of a horror show.

Sadie Holmes of Orlando got a 7,000-square-foot home and office for her charity from the show in 2006, according to OrlandoSentinel.com.

Now she is facing a $29,000 lien because of code violations and may end up losing the $400,000 house.

Holmes' story had appealed to the TV show's producers because the former drug addict had turned her life around to help others in her run-down neighborhood near Altamonte Springs. Since 2000, she had given out clothing, food, furniture — whatever people needed — from her 900-square-foot home. But piling up things people might need in your yard isn't appreciated in a some neighborhoods.
