JQC accuses Tampa judge of fiscal shenanigans with stripper

TAMPA -- A local appeals judge is facing misconduct charges from the state Judicial Qualifications Commission for his financial dealings with a stripper.

Judge Thomas E. Stringer Sr. is accused of helping Christy Yamanaka hide her assets from creditors and accepting gifts from her that he never reported on his financial disclosure forms. Those gifts included two Rolex watches, vacations to Las Vegas and New York City, and a 2001 Mercedes, according to the formal charging documents filed today with the Florida Supreme Court.
