Man reacts to job loss with baseball bat

Hummel Every day, more people lose their jobs. Most do not react quite like this.

Larry Dale Hummel, 43, of 8505 N Mitchell St., was reacting to being fired from Family Mattress on Thursday by luring his supervisor back to the 8518 Nebraska Ave. store later that evening and threatening to kill him with a baseball bat, according to an arrest affidavit.

The supervisor told police he feared for his life. No other details were available.

Hummel was charged with aggravated assault and taken to the Hillsborough County Jail, where he remains in lieu of $2,000 bail.
