Keg party on I-75

In other central Florida beer news from Gainesville.com, an accident between a Toyota pickup and a beer-ferrying tractor-trailer Monday morning on I-75 just south of I-10 resulted in 200 kegs rolling down the highway, a southbound traffic shutdown, and a second accident shortly thereafter.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol crash report, the Toyota driver crossed over two lanes and hit the median guardrail before returning to the roadway, where it was hit by the semi-trailer.  About five minutes later, said the FHP, a 1997 GMC pickup smacked into the semi, and came to a stop...wait for it...inside the trailer.

Yes, it was loaded...unfortunately

Ocala.com reports that a 73-year old Leesburg man was killed Sunday morning when the muzzleloader gun he was removing from his truck suddenly fired, hitting him in the chest.  A spokeswoman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) said the accident happened in the Osceola National Forest, in Columbia County.

Investigators said it appeared the man's gun was already loaded and that he likely grabbed the weapon by its barrel to remove it from the truck. The barrel was pointed at his chest, investigators said, and the trigger probably got hooked on something, which caused the weapon to discharge.

"This was a horrible, horrible accident," the FWC spokeswoman told the newspaper. "What makes this tragic accident even worse is that his wife and two sons were with him when this happened."
