Deputies: Estranged husband threatened wife with texted photos of bombs

An estranged husband upset that his wife had left their home to "clear her head" with family in Tennessee was arrested after allegedly texting her photographs of homemade bombs and suggesting he would use them if he lost their two children in a divorce.

Jason Steven Everett, 27, of 9511 86th Ave. N in Seminole, is charged with aggravated stalking and two counts of making or discharging a destructive device, two live M80-like objects that his wife discovered in their closet on Aug. 25.

Everett is being held in Pinellas County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

According to a Pinellas County Sheriff's arrest report, Everett sent his wife pictures of the 4-inch and 2.5-inch bombs while she was in Tennessee. When she inquired why he'd done so, he responded by text message: "So s--t better not get out of control."

She asked to him explain, and he responded "Any problems."

She asked him to explain further and he responded, "Oh, u know, people taking my kids."

Car burglar takes booze but leaves cell phone behind

DADE CITY — A burglar broke into a car July 2 and stole bottles of rum and vodka, but left something more valuable behind: his cell phone, with his picture on the screen, according to the Dade City Police Department.

Dustin Sabo, 20, apparently left his blue phone in the car during the burglary in the parking lot of Premier Health Care, 14027 5th St., the police report said. When the car owner found the phone and turned it on, the screen showed a photo of Sabo.

Police say texting, truant Tampa teen slams into police car

TAMPA - In what could safely be termed a bad morning, a high school student slammed into a police car Wednesday while texting on her phone, Tampa police said.

First, Katelyn Blaylock, 18, ditched class to drive two of her friends around, police said.

Then, while driving near the intersection of Bruce B. Downs and Palm Springs boulevards, she picked up her cell phone and began texting, police said.

She didn't see the red light or the police car in front of her. Tampa police officer Tanya Manning was stopped at the light when Blaylock's car plowed into the patrol car.

Manning was not injured. Blaylock and a front passenger, Alexis Suda, 18, suffered minor injuries after their airbags deployed. Both cars suffered about $3,000 in damage, police said.

Police took Blaylock, Suda and the third passenger, Ashton Longworth, 17, all of Lutz, back to Freedom High School, where they are students. They were "delivered to the assistant principal," a police statement said. Their parents also were notified.

Blaylock was cited with careless driving, Tampa police spokeswoman Andrea Davis said.
