She lets dog in house, he fires handgun

NewsHerald.com reports that a 51-year old Panama City man ended up in the Bay County Jail Friday night after repeatedly firing a handgun because his wife let the dog inside the house.  According to a Bay County Sheriff's Office report, deputies arrived at the residence and encountered a woman with an injured foot.  The woman said her husband did not like having the dog inside because it went to the bathroom in the house.  When she let the dog in anyhow, her husband grabbed a .22 cailber pistol and began shooting at the dog and at the area around her, according to the report, which indicated she'd injured her foot stepping on some broken glass.  Deputies found the pistol in the garage after handcuffing the husband.

One more for the road - or the jail

There was something about one of the patrons at Coyote Ugly in Panama City Beach that drew the attention of employees: the handcuffs. It seems James Brian Fuqua sneaked away from an arrest Oct. 11 and headed straight for the saloon for one last drink, reports the Northwest Florida Daily News. "I really don’t know what I was doing,'' Fuqua told a judge. He was charged with petty theft (for stealing the handcuffs), escape (for going to the bar) and resisting an officer without violence (for leaving the officer). The judge gave him probation.

 

Burglar found asleep on the job

A Bonifay man returned home to find a burglar asleep in his bed, clutching the man's loaded 22-caliber handgun, the Panama City News Herald reports. The man called 911 and the guy was still asleep when police arrived. Maybe he was overworked: Police said he already had broken into another nearby house and used an oyster knife to break into a parked car.  Patrick Richard Hazell told jail deputies he took a lot of muscle relaxants earlier that evening.
