"You (expletive) cracker. Do you know who I am?"

You guessed it.  Alcohol was involved.

In a rather unfortunate convenience store encounter in Crestview, an intoxicated customer made an attempt to hook up with another customer by asking if she had a husband.  When she demurred and said she didn't know the man, the inebriated would-be-lothario insisted that she did indeed know him.  At some point, according to police, he identified himself as "Shorty Smoothe," and began cursing at the woman and calling her names.

"(Expletive) you," he yelled, according to nwfdailynews.com. "You (expletive) cracker. Do you know who I am?" He then grabbed her shirt sleeve.  Police said he trapped her in the store while continuing to berate her.  Someone put in a call to the local constabulary.  When one of the man's daughters attempted to get him to leave, police said, he pushed her and spit on her.  She later told Okaloosa County Sheriff's deputies that her father had been drinking steadily since 11 a.m. the previous day.

A male store employee was able to get the man to leave, which freed the victim to return to her car where her children were waiting.  Deputies arrested "Shorty Smooth" on charges of battery and breach of peace.

Deputies: Man videotaped Tampa shoppers' rear ends

TAMPA — While you were shopping, he may have been watching.

A 30-year-old Land O'Lakes man was arrested Thursday after sheriff's deputies said he videotaped numerous women's buttocks while they walked around a Target.

It happened about 5:30 p.m. at the Target at 13658 University Plaza. Deputies say Krishna Ashvin Ajvalia, of 9710 Asbel Estates St,, used a Canon digital camera hidden in his jacket to film the women.

Little did he know he was being filmed, too. Target employees caught Ajvalia on the store's surveillance cameras, an arrest report states.

A Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said Ajvalia admitted to the incident and told deputies he "likes that part of the female figure."

Man found guilty of groping Minnie Mouse at Disney

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- A 60-year-old man has been convicted of groping a woman in a Minnie Mouse costume at Walt Disney World.

John William Moyer, of Cressona, Pa., maintains his innocence in the June incident.

He was convicted Tuesday of misdemeanor battery and sentenced to write the victim an apology, serve 180 days probation and complete 50 hours of community service. Moyer must also pay $1,000 in court costs and possibly undergo a mental evaluation.

The victim, Brittney Duncan McGoldrick, says she was doing everything possible to keep Moyer's hands off her breasts.

Deputies: Good Samaritan tries to rape woman

HUDSON – Gerald W. Fletcher offered a young woman a place to stay after she had been evicted – then sexually assaulted her when she was in the shower, the Pasco Sheriff's Office said.

Fletcher, a 42-year-old felon, met the woman at a Hess gas station at State Road 52 and U.S. 41 on July 23, according to a sheriff's report. It is not known if they knew each other before that afternoon.

The 23-year-old woman later told authorities she had been thrown out of where she was living and Fletcher said she could use his shower and stay for awhile. She followed him in her car to his house at 17537 Meridian Blvd. in Hudson.

The woman said Fletcher went into the shower while she was in it and assaulted her. She managed to run into another room, but told authorities Fletcher caught her, threw her down and tried to rape her. It is unknown how she escaped the house. The woman called authorities. Her injuries were consistent with her account, the report states.

Fletcher was arrested Monday on a sexual battery charge. He was being held Tuesday in the Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement lists job as "pool repair" and he has previously been convicted of larceny, selling marijuana, removing a gravestone, hit and run with injuries and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Tampa man stabs, beats up 'best friend' during argument

TAMPA — The man had just been stabbed through the lung and beaten up with a wooden stick. Deputies had one question: Who did it?

My best friend, he said.

Raheem Rubin Carter, 32, of 14617 Grenadine Drive, Apt. 1, was arrested Wednesday night after stabbing 33-year-old William Shanteloo with a pocketknife during an argument in the early hours of July 19, Hillsborough sheriff's deputies said.

Carter punctured Shanteloo's lung and torso and beat him with a wooden stick on his left arm, according to an arrest affidavit. It's not clear what the men were fighting about.

Hillsborough County sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said Shanteloo was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition.

Carter was taken to the Hillsborough County Jail, where he remains in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Woman arrested for battery after poking boyfriend in groin with her sex toy

TREASURE ISLAND — A woman has been arrested after accosting her live-in boyfriend with a pink sex toy.

Kimberly Lynn Calvert, 45, of 11875 3rd St. E, Apt. 4, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of simple battery.

Police say an intoxicated Calvert first yelled at John Anthony Gonzales, with whom she has been living for five months, then "began poking" him "in the groin area multiple times" with the sex toy.

Gonzalez called 911.

Man ends fight with spectacular pants-down display

TBO.com reports that a Brandon man was hauled off to the Orient Road Jail Wednesday after a fight between him, a woman and her teenage son culminated in a rather dramatic display of his buttocks and genitals.  According to police, Kenneth Bowden, 43, got into a altercation with the woman.  When her 13-year old son tried to help her, police said, Bowden struck him in the face.

Bowden then went outside, pulled his pants down, displayed his genitals and mooned the woman and her son, while spreading his buttocks, according to the police report.  He was charged with two counts of domestic battery, one count of lewd and lascivious conduct on a child under 16, and one count of exposing sexual organs.

Son accused of mortgaging elderly mother's home for drugs, party

DADE CITY — Thomas Davis secured a $150,000 home equity line of credit on his elderly mother's home last year, authorities said.

Within seven months, he had spent it all — on drugs, on a hydroponic garden for growing marijuana, even on a $40,000 party that Davis, 47, threw for himself, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

By March, the bank began foreclosure proceedings on the home of the woman, who has Alzheimer's. And Davis, who had power of attorney as his mother's live-in caretaker, told family members he had dug a financial hole from which he couldn't escape, the Sheriff's Office said.

Police officer quits after report shows he slashed homeless man's bike tires

TARPON SPRINGS — Officer Jeffrey Robinson resigned this morning from the Tarpon Springs Police Department after an internal investigation determined that he slashed the bicycle tires of a homeless man.

Robinson's action was in retaliation for the homeless man using racial slurs during a Jan. 28 arrest, the internal investigation report said.

A video captures Robinson going into a Police Department storage room and rolling the bicycle out on Feb. 8. Moments later, it shows him wheeling a wobbly bicycle back into the storage room.

"This is very serious misconduct," said acting police Chief Robert Kochen. "I was going to fire him if he had not resigned."

Friendly Young, of 1036 1/2 Union St., was charged with aggravated assault and is being held at Pinellas County Jail on $5,000 bond.

According to an arrest report, Young swung the blade of the saw — which can telescope up to six feet and is used for cutting high branches — forcing Lessie Hawkins to defend himself with a plastic chair. The incident took place at 750 East Harbor Drive S.
