Clearwater’s free Blast Friday concert lineup: 10,000 Maniacs, the Romantics, more

RECOMMENDED READING

Clearwater's free monthly Blast Friday party series has just unveiled the concert lineup for its 2018 edition, and it's got a little bit of everything.

The Romantics (Talking In Your Sleep), 10,000 Maniacs (These Are Days) and jazz saxophonist Richard Elliot lead the lineup for the 2018 Blast Friday series, according to Ruth Eckerd Hall, which books it. The renowned Billy Joel tribute act Lords of 52nd Street and a one-two local combo of the Greg Billings Band and Black Honkeys round out the bill.

To get things started, the city will host a free concert by Atlanta Rhythm Section as part of its annual "Miracle on Cleveland Street" on Dec. 2. The event features falling snow, and ice skating rink, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus and much more. Click here for details on that.

As for Blast Friday, the monthly street parties feature food and drinks and free music, with limited VIP seats ($29-$49) near the stage. Those tickets go on stage Friday. Here's the full lineup:

Jan. 26: Richard Elliot

Feb. 23: The Romantics

March 30: Lords of 52nd Street

April 27: 10,000 Maniacs (and before you ask, no, Natalie Merchant is no longer part of the group)

May 25: Greg Billings Band and the Black Honkeys
