Code Orange was an interesting book to read. The fear Mitty must have felt not knowing if had small pox or not?! I can't imagine what it must feel like to think you have a fatal disease. In yesterday's St Pete Times students at USF honored a fellow student who passed away from bacterial meningitis. I wonder how they feel knowing they may have been exposed to such and agressive disease. I read that some students took a vaccination while others took an antibiotic. That's a choice I hope I never have to make.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat! The eerie question that I kept wondering - Could this really happen? Hmmm....

I think that Code Orange was a GREAT book! At first I just thought it was like so boring how he had the scabs and nothing was happening for such a long time, but when something happened boy did it happen! The suspense was great and it made me feel so bad when I thought he was dieing! I can't belive how great of a book with this if I could I would give it 5 stars!! And a thumbs up ;)
Defiantely one great book:)

It's been a while since I've read this book . . . or at least since summer vacation. I remember it perfectly though. It's not my favorite, and at some point it gave a little to much information about disease. It was good, though, and it kept me reading. It was so dramatic.

This book was one of the best book I read this year. It gives alot of information on smallpox and was a very fast-pacing book.

This was a great book that keeps you thinking untill the end.

This was a really good book but the suprising fact of it is that it might be real, think of it, only two countries have a small sample of smallpox like U.S.A and Russia. Just like ther terrorist in the book they wanted to spread around smalll pox by just going to a train station. So this book had a really good twist but took to long to get to the action.

I think the book was really good but think it would have been interesting if he got small pox and started another epidemic.

It was a good book but i diliked the ending, because i thought it was anti climactic SPOILER ALERT MITTY DOESENT HAVE SMALLPOX!!!
Posted by: D MbMs | October 04, 2007 at 01:08 PM
if mitty would have gotten sick the book would have the possibility to go on farther and there would be an epidemic

Every time I picked up this book, one thing was haunting me: Could this REALLY happen? I actually got kind of paranoid for the first few chapters! I think it really would have been interesting if Mitty actually DID get smallpox and spread a new epidemic. That would have been a nice change from the typical story line. Other than this, I think the book was fantastic! I really like how the author actually got in and did so much research.

This was a pretty good book. I think that in the end he should have died. The ending was very anti-climatic.

This was a great book. I was very suprised to find out that Mitty did not actually have smallpox. I also loved the relationship between Mitty and Olivia. I think the ending was a little dissapointing though. He should of really gotten smallpox and started an epidemic. Overall it was great.

SPOILER ALERT! DON'T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK!
I though that Mitty should have actually got the smallpox disease and it should have spread all through New York and there was an actual epidemic. Then it would have had much more action and would have had a really good and suspenseful climax if everybdy got it. Even having the terrorists had won and spread the disease throughout New York. Also the whole part about the basement was extremely confusing. But, it was a good book.

Well I actually this book was very good. It actually did relate to real life in some cases because there are many people who just slack and don't do good in school and then become interested in one topic and all of the sudden they start participating more. The author did make him a hero in one case with the fact that he was willing to put other people he cared about before himself. I think that anybody who truly cares about people would want them to come before themselves so that only one person would suffer rather than 1,000 or more people around him. I love books where they make you think something and trick your mind and in the end it's the exact opposite of what you thought it was, just to make you keep reading and get you intreuged in the book. My overall outlook was that I loved it!

This book is an interesting book.It has it's good times, bad times, sad times and well completely boring times. But it kept me on the edge of my seat almost throughout the whole story. The plot is so interesting, that you have no clue what is going to happen until the end.

Code Orange is a very interesting book. We are learning about viruses in school. It now makes more sense when you relate it to real life.

There was so much suspense in this book, I couldn't put it down! The characters of Mitty and his friends are pretty believable. It was a good combination of thriller and present-day trouble, (terrorists). Especially at the end I couldn't stop reading! It was a great book! 5 stars!

I loved this book! I thought it was suspenseful and really wondered all the way till the end if Mitty would die. I am truly fearful that this scenario is not unrealistic. Last night on history channel there was a series about the world without humans...could a virus like smallpox cause all life to die? scary thoughts. Great book, just like Face on the Milk Carton which I also loved.

This book was awesome. I couldn't stop reading it until it was time for dinner! It was amazing how the author made it seem as if you weren't reading a book but, watching a movie. I swear during the suspenceful scenes I hear suspenceful music in me head! Anyway, if you haven't read Code Orange, then buy it right away! On a scale of 1-10 I'd rank Code Orange as a 9.5. :-)

Stunning.... heart stopping.... simply stunning. This book is highly entertaining with it's good humor and riveting tale. This book kept me turning page after page after page. Clooney did an extremely good job of unpredictability of what was going to happen next. It kept me guessing of what was going to happen. Simply fascinating with a mixture of a lot of drama, a little bit of comedy, and a lot of action. I was just a tad bit disappointed about the beginning because there was no exciting events for the first couple of chapters. All in all, this book was highly dramatic and I recommend this book for any book reader.

The book Code Orange by Caroline B. Cooney is an amazing book. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put this book down for one minute. Then when i had to put it down i was yearning to go back to pick it up again and read more. This book really relates to real life and is an amazing adventure for kids and teenagers to read.

Code Orange was much better than I thought it would be. It's about a teenage boy named Mitty who found old small pox scabs in an envelope. He waited for weeks trying to figure out if he actually has the small pox. when he talked to people online about the scabs, terrorists kidnapped him. When you read this book, you'll find out the rest of the story. This book made me realize that that sort of thing could really happen. It was a really great book.

Everyone was talking about Code Orange so I just had to read it! A must read with a big shock at the end is how I would describe this book. Mitty DID NOT... Read to find out.

I liked the book at the beginning more that I liked the ending. I kept waiting for it to end up "just a dream" that Mitty had. The twists and turns were too unbelievable for me. Interesting that this is at least the third book in the SSYRA list that references September 11th.

This is one of my favorite SSYRA book. It really makes you think about what would happen if smallpox started again and how fast people could get infected.
