The Anybodies: facing family challenges
Fern and Howard Bone were switched at birth. As a result Fern is growing up with a family that does not understand her. Harry Potter was not switched at birth but he is growing up in a family that fears what he is able to do. In the St. Petersburg Times, there are often stories about family misunderstandings and challenges. Find a story in today’s Times about a family clashing over differences. Click on the comments section below, give the article name and page number, briefly describe the family’s problem and explain what magical power you would use to change their lives.

This book was really good. Especially when Fern gets the book back.

This book really got me going. I couldn't stop reading it. These types of books always help me visualize and interact with the author and/or book. I love the way the author interacted with the reader. My favorite part would be the end where the author told about her language arts teacher. The grandmother was my favorite character.

It reminded me of Artemis Fowl. When she put the fairy back in the book, that wasn't in Artemis Fowl but it was cool.

I really like how the book has to belong to the owner before you actually read it. I also like how the Bone turned into a record at the garage and he started singing the lobe song about his wife.

This was an awesome book! I liked the way the author talked toyou like Lemony Snicket did in the Series of Unfortunate Events. I loved the idea of hobbits, Peter Rabbit, and a house made of books for Mrs. Appleplum, the grandmother. The author is really creative and if you haven't read this book yet, you should read it NOW!

This book also reminded me of Lemony Snicket. My favorite part was when Fern got the book back.

I liked the anybodies with the plot and the story but the way the Author constantly kept talking to you like you were her friend. It totally threw me off of my reading the way she kept brining it up. Other than that I thought it was a cute book on family secrets and problems. And I thought my family was crazy hahaha. :)

This was an AWSOME book and was VERY suspencefull. After I read it I couldn't wait to read the sequal(The Nobodies)

We found The Anybodies humorous because of the way Fern had to put the characters in and out of books. We were glad Fern had her mother's diary so she could feel close to her.

This book wasn't really interesting to me, but it was o.k. Since the author talked to the readers like she knows us, BUT I don't like it when they do that (no offense)since it seems like they know us but they don't! Also, I've read other books like this one, but BETTER (SORRY TO THE AUTHOR AGAIN!)!!! One more thing, even though I may be one of the weird girls in class, the author used the weird-ness in a "wrong" way than it should be in this book.I also didn't find anything about family secrets, so i don't know what the meaning of this book was about.

Good choice if you go for fantasy.

This book was a combined mix of witty events and unpredictable events. As the author claims, this "true" story is utterly delightful!

This book is for those who like strange books: quirky characters, odd storyline, crazy themes. At our library our students either love it or hate it. I thought the silliness was great at the beginning, but I began to tire of it throughout the book.

The Anybodies was a great yet incredibly confusing book in my point of view. There was so many interesting things happening at the same time which gave the story a lot of suspense. It's very different than any other book I've read and I thought it was very good.

as soon as picked up this book off my school library shelf I knew I was going to like it. These are the kind of books i usaully don't go for, but it turned it out to be a really good book. I think the best part was when fern found the book in the room made of books. No, it had to be the the part where Howard made his parents think they were monkeys. Oh, I can't decide it was all good.

The Anybodies is a unique and original book. You can easily tell that just by looking at the front cover! The "different" style of storyline make this book an enjoyable experience and a great read!

I loved how it was a mix of fantasy and reality. The Anybodies was a very good book.

It was definitely one of my favorites! I love the characters in her book, and if I was an Anybody, I would pull Fern right out. She would be a great person to talk to!
If you're having trouble unmasking the pseudonym, (n.e. bode), just take a look at a special friend that keeps being mentioned in the books. (It was also in the XPress section this week) ;)
ALSO: Read "THE SOMEBODIES", "THE NOBODIES", & "THE SLIPPERY MAP", other N.E. Bode books that are out, (the first 2 are sequels to this book!!!). "THE PRINCE OF FENWAY PARK" is coming out too, but not in a while.
