Bomb threat at USF shuffles final exams

TAMPA — University of South Florida police closed a large classroom building Wednesday night after receiving a bomb threat during final exam week of the school’s summer session.

Cooper Hall, which houses classrooms and offices for social sciences and language departments, was shut down at 9 p.m. Wednesday, so the day’s classes and exams were not disrupted.

USF Police Lt. Meg Ross said the building will remain closed Thursday while USF police and other law enforcement personnel search it.

Tests scheduled for Thursday at Cooper Hall will be moved to other buildings on campus. Students can check the USF Web site for information about where tests and classes at Cooper Hall will be moved, Ross said.
