Dice game ends with fatal stabbing

A game of Yahtzee on Saturday left one man dead and another charged with murder.

Mark Kelvin Allen, 49, was playing the game at about 7 p.m. with Edith Elliott, 47, at Elliott's residence at 3607 N Avenida Republica de Cuba, said Tampa Police detective Craig Roberts.

An argument broke out between Allen and another man at the house. The man retreated to a bedroom, but Allen kicked the door off its hinges, Roberts said.

During the struggle, Allen stabbed the man twice in the lower abdomen, police said. The man later died at Tampa General Hospital.

Authorities charged Allen with second-degree murder. He is being held without bond at the Orient Road Jail.

Police have not released the name of the victim pending notification of his family.
