Salon owner dies
St. Petersburg hair salon owner Jim Botts, featured in a Times story Monday about business succession, died Monday at home. Botts, 51, owned Salon Jim Botts for 20 years. He had been battling cancer for several years, but had returned to the salon last month.

Jim, now that your hurt is finally over it is time for our tears to flow. You will always be loved and remembered.

Jim Botts was the love of my life and he always referred to us as "Soulmates". To this day, he is the only man that I can say that about. I am so deeply saddened by his passing and even more sad to find out about this too late to be there for his memorial service and mourn with the many people who's lives he touched. He was a great man who taught me so many things. He has forever change my life and I will carry him in my heart until it is my time to cross over. Thanks to all who cared for him in his final days.Your blessings will be many.
With all my love, I say goodbye......

I was so sorry to hear about this :( I moved away so I haven't been there in some time. Jim always told me he loved my laugh because it reminded him of his sister. No one has ever made me feel as beautiful as Jim. What a gift he shared...

"The Salon is nothing". Now that Jim has passed away. I know that theres not one day that I don't think of him. (Jimmy)was one of the greatest person I've ever known, I love him. He's strong and confident and Jim has the way of making you feel like you can do anything in the world. Jimmy's like my dad.
