EUSTIS -- Authorities in Eustis will be surveying the damage from a possible tornado that damaged about 50 homes.

The National Weather Service says radar indicated that a tornado spun off from the storm system crossing Florida into the Gulf of Mexico and touched down late last night.

Sergeant John Herrell of the Lake County Sheriff's Office says only one minor injury has been reported.

Herrell says 20 houses are uninhabitable and about 30 homes have broken windows, debris from fallen tree branches and roof damage. He says the second story was torn off one house, but the residents escaped unharmed.

Eustis is about 30 miles northwest of Orlando.
