ST. PETERSBURG -- A lawsuit against the family of former pro wrestler Hulk Hogan is probably necessary to ensure that the long-term care of John Graziano is paid for, attorneys for his parents say.

"I think that any guardian would file a civil suit; that goes without saying," said George Tragos, who represents Debra Graziano, John's mother.

Graziano is a 22-year-old Marine who was critically injured Aug. 26 while riding in a Toyota Supra driven by Nick Bollea, 17, the wrestler's son. Medical professionals who have examined Graziano have said in court documents that he suffered severe head injuries. One doctor said Graziano would likely need a lifetime of care.

Tb_graziano Today, attorneys for both of Graziano's parents, who are estranged, went to court in Pinellas County to discuss who should be named as his guardian. No resolution was reached, and for now Debra Graziano will make medical decisions on her son's behalf as his temporary emergency guardian.

An attorney for Edward Graziano (left), John's father, contended that Debra Graziano is not a good choice as John's guardian because she has received support from the Bollea family. After the accident, she was staying in a hotel room paid for by the Bolleas, and now her husband's attorney said she is staying in a condominium or townhome in Clearwater provided by the Bolleas.
