Body found in New Port Richey

NEW PORT RICHEY -- A man's body was found about noon Tuesday behind a Dumpster near a school.

Police said there were no obvious signs of trauma to Theodore Michael Connors, 57, who was found with some personal items.

"It appears ... that he was probably homeless," said New Port Richey Assistant Chief Darryl Garman.

A motorist spotted the body near the Genesis School, a private, prekindergarten through fifth-grade school on River Road, and called police.

An autopsy will determine Connors' cause of death. Garman said he was receiving some type of medical treatment.
